Misleading!

I just bought this and didn't realize it would need custom installation and electrical work and/or take up two sockets. There is a screw that goes all the way through the unit. The instructions that came with it did not correspond to the unit purchased (and are in like 5 point font).

We don't want you to feel that way. The BSV602 Surge Protector wouldn't need custom installation. You can choose to install the Surge Protector over your AC outlet's wall plate and secure with the included mounting screw, or plug the surge protector directly into the outlet without using the screw.

It got shocked and died to protect devices. I thought surge protector means it protects itself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Design flaw-- Should red light be on or off?

I bought and installed two of the SurgePlus. Both have green lights on-- indicating surge protection is on. One has red light on-- the other does not-- I'm confused about which indicates grounding-- when red light is on or off?

I've had one of these for several years now and I've found it very useful. I like the way it looks. It's made of quality materials and has a solid feel. The mounting screw is good to have because it keeps the thing secure on the wall when you unplug cords - lots of other products I've seen around don't have it. It takes up 2 sockets on the wall, but it gives you 6 so no problem there. Also the 2 USB plugs on top mean you can charge phones and stuff without using a socket.

This product did its job. Had a power surge and the TV and all the other things that were connected to it did not get damaged. Unfortunately the unit it self does not work now and there is no reset button on it. Since i dont have power surge protectors on all my outlets. I did lose a TV, washer,water heater and refrigerator. My question is will belkin replace my product...?????

Great unit

I have always used this for my electronics and now that I have moved I plugged it in and it will work in all the outlets except the one outlet in the living room.
