Great Printer But Defects Evident

I bought my ET-2500 a year and half ago from Amazon. It worked fine up until three months ago when the printer stopped printing on long jobs, resulting in all the lights on the front of the unit blinking constantly and the printer paralyzed. It would not resume printing unless I turned the unit off and then back on. However, the print job was not resumed and the half printed page would be ejected so the printer could start over. Disappointing. I contacted Epson support which was surprisingly easy and although there was some confusion at first on the agents part, he eventually discovered my unit was registered and I qualified for a two year warranty. So they offered to send me a new one and take the defective unit back. The new unit arrived today and I am currently using it without any issues at all. Fingers crossed I won't experience these problems again. Thanks Epson for the great customer service.

Disappointing

The et2500 wifi printer works fine from two of my computers after downloading drivers. However the printer is not found on my iPhones, iPads or other handheld devices. Even after downloading the Epson printer app still it does not appear as an option. Still working on solving this issue. The low rating is solely based on the aggravation involved and the lack of documentation addressing this apparent common problem. The printer itself seems to print good quality if only I can ever get this wifi printer to work on wifi, that is the problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Goodbye ink cartridges

I've had my printer for two weeks. It works as advertised. The setup is a bit trickier than most other printers because you have to fill the ink wells but that's probably why you're looking at this printer in the first place. The process is a bit messy. Be sure to follow all the instructions (especially the gloves) and you'll be fine.
Because there's no LED display you'll have to learn what buttons make copies, scans, etc. I don't do much of that so it's no big deal. If you do you may want to go a model up and get that functionality. The quality of the prints are good. I even printed out a picture that came out nice.

This printer was remarkably easy to set up. I am hoping that we will save big $'s on ink compared to the ink hog Cannon that this printer is replacing.

If you need a printer but an Eco-Tank

I put a query out to friends, asking for recommendations for printers. My tech friends ALL high said get the Eco-Tank. So I ordered one which arrived relatively quickly. I am not much of a techie myself but I followed the set-up instructions carefully. It worked on the first try. The wireless feature works just fine. My wife was in the back yard and printed a photo from her phone.
(I also appreciate Epson's support of NPR.)

I am really impressed with the speed of printing and the quality of the print. So far I have only used my all-in-one printer for printing and copying, but am looking forward to scanning, faxing and wireless printing.
I chose this model because of the EcoTank feature.
