Heavy duty work horse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We previously had a Braun hand blender and did not use it often because we found it wanting in power and options. We had other kitchen aid products and knew the quality of the brand. We received an email describing this 5 speed hand blender and after doing our research we could not find a comparable product for the price. Most hand blenders come with only one length of arm, this unit comes with two, along with three blades, and a whisk. The longer arm is great to get into my large pots to crush the whole tomatoes or other vegetables I want to chop or blend, where the smaller arm is just right for the included 4 cup pitcher or any bowel. One feature that we love is the included case so we don’t go looking for the attachments. All the parts are made of metal no plastic except for the pitcher, case and 2 1/2 cup chopper. We have non stick pots and included in the set is a blade guard that won’t scratch or mar the pot finish but is designed to be attached to the blade while in use chopping in these pots/bowls. Each blade also has a guard used while the blade is stored, that is great so you will not cut yourself. The actual motor unit is heavy which adds stability. The speed control on top of the motor is a little awkward to manipulate but after a while you get to know the speed you want and can set it before use. There is no on button per say, but you hold the pulse button as long as you need which gives you better control in my opinion.
All in all this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a hand blender.

Very, very dissapointed!!

I bought this product a few month ago in Argentina (220v). I already have a professional mixer and a blender, excellent both products. I always loved Kitchenaid!! But the expensive hand blender doesn´t work. The chopper lost pieces of plastic and i didn´t note it!! I thing I ate it... The chopper does not chop parsley, it drags it, I guess it´s because the motor has very little power (180 w). And the hand blender... if I use it for something harder than tomato, it reheats very fast and the motor shuts down. And although I use it for tomato, the preparation is not homogenous as with my old moulinex (which had 600w of power). I called kitchenaid Argentina and they told me they only offer warranty for products bought there, but I bought it in Geobazar ... who are not to blame for the design problems. I was going to buy a food processor, but after this experience I will not buy kitchenaid products again. Very dissapointed!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Attachments need work

The hand blender works great and has a decent enough motor to get the job done. The chopper attachment is utterly worthless - doesn't open easily if you can get it open at all. Not worth the additional expense for the full set.

Best Hand mixer

Great Sturdy Product

I got this set a year ago for Christmas and I have loved it since then. I use it frequently and have had no issues with it. The mini chopper works great and I use it more than my large food processor now. I highly recommend this product!
