I bought this cooktop because of the quality GE is known for. The stainless steal frame got all scratched up after one use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Once repaired--works great

GE makes great products, but this one happened to be a lemon. After 1 month's use, it broke so GE sent repair men to replace parts, and now it works just great . It took a month to be repaired, but am happy now with how it works.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice cooktop

Came with the house. Love the ability to increase the heat surface for individual pans. Warming burner is a nice feature. So glad they have the locking feature so burners do not get bumped and turned on accidently.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This unit does not work reliably. The entire unit shuts off while you are using it. This is not a circuit breaker problem... the unit shuts itself down and resets itself after 30 min or so. This is a recurring operational problem.

The look is great and the elements heat up quickly. The only negative is that the front is actually curved so the measurements given are for the deepest part of the curve. So when installed, it was actually half inch shorter than my old cooktop and I had to order an extra metal piece to cover the gap. So there was an added expense there.

Love the looks and the functionality of the cooktop. Best features are the power boil, keep warm, adjustable coils, and lock when cleaning or when little kids around.
