It is easy to clean and beautiful. It is enough for variety of cookware.

Doesn’t look right. I think it’s defective

Just had it installed today. I can see all kinds of ugly irregular red lines through glass. Not attractive at all

Disappointed

I have several issues with this product. My number one complaint is that the controls are way to sensitive. If I simply set something on the cooktop and it touches the controls, they start beeping and blinking. An inadvertent touch can change the heat setting on any element. I have turned back to the stove to find the setting has been changed from warm to full heat or to find the element completely shut off and my food not cooking. This happens very frequently and after two years of cooking on it, it still happens weekly despite my trying to be very careful not to touch anything accidentally.
Also, this is my second GE glass cooktop. Both of them have cooked unevenly. A skillet on an element cooks hotter toward the back than on the front.
And finally, the bridged elements are useless. My old one actually had an element to make a grill-useable bridge with two burners and the in between element. The new one just moved the burners closer together which actually makes it almost impossible to use both burners at the same time and really doesn’t make it grill-useable since there is too much unheated space for a rectangular grill pan. I have always used a burner as a plate warmer. I could cook on one and set a plate on the other. Even a small skillet used on the front burner makes the back burner inaccessible for any use at the same time.
I am so incredibly disappointed. I have been looking to replace this cooktop since I got it. It’s just hard to replace something for which you paid lots of money and that should last for many years.

Smooth tops are more aesthetic and easier to keep clean
on August 30, 2012

We upgraded our kitchen recently and purchased this particular model because it met all our requirements: smooth top without knobs, ample cooking burners with regulating cooking area and it fit the existing space in the granite counter. I could not be happier. I did experience a small learning curve as we had coil burners before, but now I would not go back to a coil type cook top. The smooth top does get grease and maybe some baked on food stuff while cooking, but these are easy to remove with a cook top cleaner and a single-edge blade, when needed. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend; in fact my daughter-in-law purchased one after enjoying the experience of cooking on mine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooks great!!
One thing I really dislike is when you are using the cooktop, and you need to wipe a spill, if you are not careful, I have turned the other burners on.

Really love the digital features; no KNOBS!

Bought as a replacement for older profile cooktop with knobs (cracked). Love the digital without knobs!! Locking the top is a breeze! This one was just a bit smaller but fit in the spot pretty good. Would really have preferred the top be a bit varigated like the lower models instead of the super solid black shiny glass. Pretty, but it shows every touch, mark, smudge, etc. Yes, it does clean easier without the knobs but with some effort and the polish and sponge recommended can make a ghost shadow; so be careful. Really like the burner layout. All and all, the performance is excellent and was the best solution for our kitchen set up.

Works great when it doesn't break.

I've bought this cooktop when I remodeled my kitchen under three years ago. I liked the design for the aesthetics and the features are nice. The problem is it has already broken for the second time. The first time was just after a year. GE covered the parts but the service call and repair were over $200. Now the cooktop has another burner out. it is less than three years old and has broken twice! We will continue to use it with the broken burner for now. If it wasn't prone to breaking, I'd tell you I love it, but this one has scared me off from glass cooktops and digital controls. We will probably go back to a gas top when we replace it.

Excellent Cooktop

I have had this cook top for over two months and really like it. It cooks very evenly, especially pancakes and omelets. It is sleek and easy to clean. Just use a cloth with water and dish washing detergent and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. I haven't needed to use the cleaning compound that came with it.
The advertised depth did not include the control module underneath. I had to modify the drawer beneath my cook top to accommodate the module. Fortunately, I am an accomplished woodworker hobbyist with power tools. I lost about 20% of the drawer area which hadn't been fully utilized anyway. If you have a drawer underneath, it's something to check before installation.
