Excellent Cooktop, Easy Installation!!!

I had a GE Profile series cooktop that developed a large crack in the ceramic surface after 25 years use. This replacement model now comes with RADIANT heat elements which heat up better and give a more even heat application. I installed this unit in 15 minutes, it was a simple electrical connection and popping out the old cook top. I am very pleased with the workings of this unit, and the ease of installing it myself, without any special training.

Poor design

The knobs are located right in the middle of the cook top. This placement does not allow you to place large pans (like ones coming out of the oven) on the stove very easy. As I move food, while cooking or serving, from front to back or back to front, sometimes the food spills on to the cook top. Because the knobs are right in the middle they have to taken off every time to clean the area. Such a pain! They should have put the knobs on the side. FYI...this stove top came with our new home purchase. I did not have any other options. So, now i have to find a replacement that fits the counter top.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect fit!

Bought this cooktop to replace an existing GE cooktop installed 20 years ago. We prefer the knobs as the smoothtop models seemed more difficult to see and manipulate the controls with our old eyes. The cooktop fit perfectly into the existing cutout. It was relatively simple to remove the old cooktop and install the new one myself. We love the new lock function as we have small grandchildren. Would rate the cooktop five stars if the control numbering was a bit larger with more contrast for visual clarity.

Good cooktop

So much better than my older cooktop. Much easier to see heat settings. Also much faster to reach temperature. Really like the red glow under knobs to tell which burner is active.

We purchased this cooktop about 6 months ago when we moved to our new home and it's great! It responds quickly to temperature adjustments. No more moving the pan, waiting for the temp to lower. Using the kit provided, cleanup is easy and it still looks like new. I highly recommend this cooktop. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but has been worth every penny.
