Not happy

Machine has been making a grinding noise since I got for Christmas. But unfortunately I have had to go out of town due to fathers illness and am unable to take to see what is wrong and afraid warnety will expire before I get to get back home

5th brother machine

This is a great machine. Bought it for granddaughter. I now have 4 brother sewing machines and a brother embroidery machine. I love them all.

Terrible machine even for this price point!

My wife bought this machine a few years ago and was only able to use it once before the bobbin winder failed, she is a hobbyist and set it to the side for a time. When I looked into it I found that the winder uses rubber grommets to engage the drive gear and it had turned to goo. Upon further investigation we found that this is a known issue with this brand and that they are not worth the money to buy or fix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful ES2000

I love my Brother ES2000.
I put my daughter in a sewing class and she was 13 years old then and she told me to buy ES2000.

Great to learn with. Doesn't handle denim

I bought this several years ago refurbished. Have been able to make a few baby quilts and some dresses and skirts and do basic alterations, repairs and hemming, curtains, pilllow cases etc. Have decided to upgrade because this machine cannot handle denim or thicker materials and I really want to make some heavier winter jackets and clothing. It's not a bad little machine to learn on and for the price, if you aren't working with denims or heavier fabrics, you'll probably enjoy this. It tends to whine and complain if you push it to sew through layers of fabric, and often the stitch length comes out uneven and many stitches will be skipped.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to read instructions. I am used to the "old" Singer machine. Will have to get used to the new features. I am excited about what the machine can do.

Great machine

I have had this machine for almost 10 years now. The only problem I have had was my bobbin winder o-ring broke and I had to get it fixed. It took 10 minutes and the shop did it for free (this was after about 10 years of owning it). I am writing this review purely because i saw a negative review on this machine. My parents bought this for me as a Christmas present and I have sewed many things with it. Most quilts and baby blankets. This machine is a great beginner machine. I honestly don't know how someone was having problems with it. It is virtually maintenance free and it has the versatility to do many things. I would recommend this machine to anyone who wants a nice sewing machine that can do more than just the basics for a great price.
