A much superior phone

Switched from iphone to Nokia icon.
Pros:
bigger screen, better contrast, much easier to read emails and type.
keyboard is more user friendly than iphone (less need to hit the number tab)
Address book incorporates all facebook addresses. picture of caller shows up when you receive a phone call. As a doctor with too many patients, I can tell exactly who is calling me.
Great Camera
settings can be changed from each application directly
colors are less childish than IOS 7 and the contrast is superior
phone coupled well with my BMW 5 series. Text messages are now read to me by the car audio
One drive made my life much easier, no more needing to sync with itune.
you can access one drive content (documents/pictures..) from the phone directly. This frees so much phone memory
the cord-free charging made the process much easier
the search button taking you straight to Bing! one step
cons:
the itune music downloaded very well from the desktop. Even the playlist downloaded well. this however did not work well with my car's media system. The playlist did not show and music played alphabetically and could not browse through it.
BEWARE: turn off imessage on your iphone before you change to the Nokia. if you don't do that, many incoming text messages (from iphone users) won't make it to your phone and will be lost forever
no voice recorder, but you can easily download a free and far more superior app than the iphone's
No Nook reader app! Seriously?
Visual voicemail is not part of your phone app any longer. it is a separate app and you will have to pay a monthly fee to Verizon so you get it.

LOVE my Lumia!!

Absolutely love this phone! Perfect for a working mom. Love the compatibility with my Windows 8.1 laptop. Provides access to all Outlook contacts from both personal and professional accounts from a single tile (People). Direct access to all 8 of my family's email accounts (plus work and non-profit groups# pinned to the start screen. Easy to customize what alerts you want to see on lock screen and notification area. Displays appointments from calendars for home, school, & work - perfectly color coded in a single view - all while maintaining separate accounts. Flexibility in notifications is fabulous! The Microsoft Office tools make it easy to open Word docs, spreadsheets, or Powerpoint files to reference in a meeting. The Windows 8.1 update has neat features like transparent tiles, Cortana assistant, and sleep times #with breakthroughs for selected people to call if urgent). The 20MP camera takes great video & photos, too. Wish it had a microSD slot, but otherwise, this phone is perfect for everything I need to do on a portable device. I have never loved a product enough to write a review before, but this phone is it!!!

I have always been an android guy but decided to try something new and boy am I surprised! This is a great phone! Battery life is amazing and windows 8 is a much more stable platform then Andriod. I would recommend to any who asks. Great job Nokia!

Best mobile platform

Windows Phone 8.1 (Denim) on the Nokia Icon is the best mobile OS on the best hardware, full stop. The PureView camera is just amazing. The pictures it takes allows some serious cropping and still be left with sufficient picture resolution. The screen is wonderfully crisp and amazingly clear. I've looked/researched what I could replace it with if I wanted to, with any brand any OS. The new Windows Mobile 940/940 XL are the only two good enough.
The big thing that needs fixing is when using the GPS, the WiFi will fail to make any connection. Restarting the phone fixes this.

this phone has changed my life...i never knew Nokia could make windows phone so FUN!!! the speed is amazing the multitasking is amazing the sound quality is stunning and the Nokia apps are great. the battery is very good as well. I'm use to taking pics with my Nokia 808 pureview so the camera on the icon could be better

Great phone so far. However, if given the choice, bring it home in the box, and set it up yourself. I had to restart mine because the store set it up wrong. Not really a huge problem, though. Overall an awesome phone, and hopefully the upcoming update [8.1, I believe] will make it even better!

Best phone I've ever used

I have used the iPhone, I've used several different Androids and none of them compare to my Lumia 822, let alone the Lumia Icon (929)! 20 MP camera, Full HD videos, Surround Sound Level Recording. Loaded with Microsoft apps that make working in a Windows powered business environment seamless. OneNote, Office, Outlook, VPN and so much more. Productive and lots of fun. So if you are looking for a phone that is more then a toy that can call people. Look no further then Window Phone!
