What has happened to a cell phone being a cell phone? This phone has some great features and apps, but when others talk to me on this phone they have a difficult time hearing me because the phone constantly cuts in and out. My son has the exact same phone and his does the exact same thing!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Battery life is useless

Had the opportunity to try this out in Chicago on the LTE network there. Most of the time the phone was running on the HSPA+ network, but data was still very fast.
The problem I have with this phone is a complete lack of battery life. I spent two days at a trade show and the phone was dead by lunch time both days with minimal usage. If you are at home or the office and can keep the phone plugged in all the time go for it. If you actually use your phone as a mobile device you will need to carry around a generator to keep it charged, or at least a few extra batteries for it.
The features of the phone are great, but because of the incredibly poor battery life I can't give it more than one star for overall, performance or value. After 5 or 6 hours it is nothing more than an expensive paperweight.
Cons: no battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Handsfree Voice commands from bluetooth is not a feature

We have both Galaxy 2 I777 and Galaxy 2 I727(Skyrocket) and was so disappointed to know that voice dialing/command initiated from the BT is not a feature on the Skyrocket. Sending voice commands must be done using the phone, a feature that is self defeating.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this product because it is a sleek and sexy looking phone. I loved the bigger screen on this phone however, camera is not that great. The main thing which is pathetic is the Battery. It cannot even work more than 5 to 6 hours, how can you pack so many features but only allow us to use it for 5 hours?
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations, not a good camera, battery issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WHO DOES THAT???

The only drawback I can see with this device so far is the lack of a headphone jack. WHO DOES THAT??? Not everything is bluetooth nor does everyone want to waste their battery on bluetooth!! Unless I'm missing the absolute obvious, there is no headphone jack and that is simply ridiculous. Other than that, the phone functionality is great, display is great, 4G LTE IS AWESOME!!!
This phone does NOT support hands free commands via a Bluetooth device. So in many states it's illegal to use while driving. For this top-of-the line device not to support a feature my 2004 phone did is highly disappointing. I will be returning it for a phone that allows me to comply with my state laws.
The Skyrocket is great if you are 13 years old, texting your buddies while wearing mittens and skateboarding! But if you are a serious user particularly of "dial tone" (afterall this is a "phone") it lacks an extremely important feature. You should be able to tap your bluetooth headset once, receive a voice instruction requesting a command, return a voice command like "call John" and have it be done. Unfortunately on the Skyrocket, like all smart phones, voice dialing is an "app" as opposed to a native feature of the phone. Yes you can voice dial using the app but it is more cumbersome than just going to your contacts list and dialing. In either case you have to look at your device, press several keys and look to make sure the appropriate contact is pulled up and not some obscure website in Guatamala! With the focus of so many cities, counties and states restricting cellular usage or requiring "hands-free" operation while driving, I can't believe manufacturers particlulaly Samsung do not include "Voice Dialing" as a native feature in their phones. So, there is nothing to differentiate Samsung or Skyrocket from any other phone! How about a firmware update?
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, voice dialing unacceptable, power and volume control in poor location, no audible signal when connecting bluetooth device, no audible intermittant reminder of missed calls, no audible intermittant reminder of voice mail
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung Skyrocket

I am a former iPhone 4 user and recently switched to the Samsung Skyrocket mostly for it's 4G LTE capability. The phone is sweet, the display is very nice albeit the physical size of the phone is almost too big to manipulate with one hand as I did with my iPhone 4.My only real complaint with this device is that is does NOT support voice dialing via Bluetooth headset. A MAJOR safety issue in my opinion. Hands-free is a must. I am astounded that Samsung & AT&T would bring a phone to market lacking this feature as this technology has been around for years. I have tried 3rd party apps for voice dialing but they still require intervention with the handset. I am still inside my 30 day window to return this device and will probably do so unless I can find a work around for this issue - even if it means switching carriers. As much as I love everything else about this phone, this is one thing that's hard to swallow. Several reviews pointed this deficiency out and upon calling Samsung, they confirmed this and apologized. If there is an update or solution that addresses and resolves this issue, please post!
