I've been a long time Iphone user and thought it was time for a change. I liked the Skyrocket because of it's big screen, it's display and overall performance. I've heard many good things about the Android system I thought I would try this out and I am liking it very much. Takes a little getting used to as I am unfamiliar with the Android system.
I wanted this to be the best phone i've purchased. But it's not. It entertainment features are second to none. But its major failure for me has been its use as a phone. I don't know if it's me or samsung, but every samsung phone i've owned over the last year has had horrible bluetooth performance. I've had a Captivate, a Focus, an Infuse, and now a Skyrocket and all have had choppy bluetooth performance. It seemed at first connection after charging over night the phone would drop the connection several times before maintaining the connection for the remainder of the day. Sometimes during calls it would randomly switch back to the handset(very annoying). I have kept the phone in hopes that an update will improve the phone and bluetooth performance.
The rear camera is about on par with other smartphones in this price range, the front camera is much better than the average smart phone.
Sound quality when it works is quite good when listening through the handset or bluetooth. The speakerphone is subpar.
Overall the phone is still a nice phone. i'm not sure i would buy it again though. for this price i would have liked a higher resolution screen. There should have been a hardware button for the camera. And the time to focus and shoot is rather long.
I have just purchased the SGH-I727 Skyrocket and the HW7000 Bluetooth Headset. Both the newest and greatest product offering in Samsung's mobile phone product line. The Skyrocket does not support Bluetooth Voice Dialing. It also continues to drop the connection with the HM7000 headset which has been reset multiple times to try and resolve the issue. The HM7000 worked well with my previous Motorola Atrix. I have tried the Freesync app as well. Both devices are nice products but represent Samsung poorly as the hands free cell phone platform in text to speech and voice dialing are the present market desire. When does Samsung expect a fix for the SGH-I727 Skyrocket ?
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

Our company recently retired our fleet of Blackberries and replaced them with the Samsung Galaxy IIS "Skyrocket" Android smartphones. These gadgets succeed admirably as email machines with calendaring, contact lists and web browsers, but there is one enormous problem with the "phone" part.
The screen is beautiful, it plays "Angry Birds" very well, and as a music player it works nicely. But the Skyrocket keeps losing its connection to my Bluetooth headset, and there apparently is no way to do hands-free voice dialing, two very important features for a "mobile PHONE" to have. I don't know if the lack of voice dialing is a Samsung problem or an AT&T problem, but it isn't an Android problem - because my other Android phone came with a very nice voice dialing feature.
Sorry; as much as I'd like to, I cannot recommend this as a phone. If your primary focus is on texting, music or web browsing, then it will work well for you.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no voice dialing feature
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a fantastic phone. Don't get me wrong...but if you can't make the built in voice commands work with BlueAnt products, (Q2) it's really a big downfall. It works with all other Samsung products, just not the Skyrocket.
I expect a little better speaker audio quality when playing music. The blueTooth is little buggy I feel. Sometimes It dont work in expected way. I had to restart the phone - very bad.
Rest all are great
Cons: speaker audio quality is poor, little buggy with the bluetooth
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone until .... I upgrade for Android 4.0

The phone was great but after the upgrade .....
A lot of apps stop working and it is necessary to shut down the phone (restart it).
Some apps that were working fine before: Skype Camera 360 Viber Facebook
So the phone is great but do not upgrade. If you do it, you will look for a way to install the old Android OS (if you know who to do it, let me know).
Coming from iphones and HTC phones, I have to say that this phone is definitely a very good high-end phone from Samsung. I wish the resolution could've been something more like the galaxy nexus (and HD display) but I guess the difference isn't that much. In stock already, I have seen no lag issues, reboots, and living in an LTE area, the speeds are FANTASTIC. Battery life is good, could be better but the main problem for that is probably the 4G. Has a reasonable price for such an awesome phone, and has a somewhat high quality feel.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, no lag
