Great Product

I have used the shredder seamlessly with the application of this oil. I appreciated that it is vegetable-based, and therefore not harmful to the environment, because I forward my shredding to have it recycled.
Pros: Quiet Operation, biodegradable, long neck for application
Cons: hard to control when applying
I would recommend this to a friend!

Secret requirement

The very brief user manual for my new Fellowes 8MC shredder makes no mention of using lubricating oil or any maintenance of any type. ________________________I only found this product and oiling recommendations because My old shredder blades got dull. Online research showed blades should be lubricated regularly and sometimes could be sharpened with aluminum foil or special sharpening paper.________________________So why does Fellowes omit this information from the shredder product box, and user manual???????
Pros: Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: manual has zero info on maintenance

Hi BuzzJoe. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and observations. Oiling instructions can be found under the Product Maintenance section of the user guide. Regarding the foil suggestion (I am not familiar with the special sharpening paper you refer to): We tested this theory in the lab some time ago and found that there is no significant difference in machine performance; including power consumption, speed, etc. It still stands that the best thing you can do to increase performance of the shredder is to oil the cutters (not applicable to strip-cut units). That has very noticeable benefits in machine performance and reduction in power consumption. New use for this product

I decided to try your shredder oil on my nose/ear hair trimmer. The device was sluggish, even after cleaning and new batteries. After a couple of drops of oil on the blade area, the device seemed much faster and quieter!

High quality and shredding ability guarantees security---credit cards, dvds and basic multiple page grinding ability are excellent--vastly superior to my old competitive brand shredder.
