Good energy efficient model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought an Energy Star model last month. It is quiet, efficient and cold at the recommended settings. The model I bought was stainless steel on the front and black on the sides. The only small defect was a small uneven surface (6" diameter) deformation on the black side near the top which is difficult to see, but I can live with it.

Freezer door stays open

I have this refrigerator n an apartment I am renting. When you close the bottom door the freezer door pops open a bit. Sometimes it closes back up, sometimes it doesn't. I have come home to a freezer full of unthawed foods because I didn't check to make sure the top door closed after I opened the bottom. I don't think you shold have to check to make sure the top door closes. I do not like the refrigerator
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Top Gal! It is not unusual on a two-door refrigerator for one door to pop open when the other door is being closed. The refrigerator and freezer sections are connected by air channels to allow air to pass between them. I recommend placing a newer dollar bill where the door meets the edge of the refrigerator and try to pull out the bill. If the bill slides out easily the seal needs to be replaced. However with this being a newer appliance, I recommend closing the refrigerator door softly and not allowing the door to slam shut or close abruptly. I hope this helps! The refrigerator is pretty good for the price, though when we bought it we had to have the seal rotated because it had formed to be open hinged on the right side in the factory and we needed it to be opened hinging from the left.
