Build quality is so-so , but overall it's GREAT

First let me start off with the bad, the Focus S is made by Samsung. That alone should be telling enough. Anyone that has ever owned, seen or used any of their smartphones in the last 2 years or so will understand what i mean. Whether it be their now top of the line Android phone the Galaxy Nexus, the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S, Nexus S or Samsung Focus...all the phones are made out of plastic, feel very light in hand, and this lack of heft tends to give them the feel of cheapness or fragility. It really isn't the case, as I can say I had dropped my older Samsung Captivate (AT&T's Galaxy S) and Samsung Focus on the ground many times, with little more than minor scuffs resulting, but still...you will always have the feeling of "wow this phone is almost too light" if you're like me and value the use of premium materials in gadgets. And as far as the bad, that's really it. Let's move on.
I actually upgraded to this phone from the Samsung Focus, and I must say that it is actually worth every penny for me. I started with Window Phone 7 last year, so I can say I'm pretty well versed in the ins and outs of the phone. But this phone loaded with Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango" is really something great. The OS isn't as featured filled as iOS and not as customizable as Android, but conversely it isn't hampered by the "walled garden" of Apple nor does it have some of the incohesive and unpolished issues of Android - if you've used an Android phone for more than a day, you're surely aware of the instability, sometimes slow update schedule and random errors like "force close".
All in all, the OS has it's shortcomings and lack of features, but what it has done so far, it's completely nailed in execution.
As far as the actual phone hardware itself (besides the build quality I mentioned before)it's great to be honest. The camera takes really good pictures, especially in low light conditions, the screen is amazing and has incredible color reproduction and black levels, and it's really one of the thinnest phones on the market. Would have been nice if there was a 32GB option for people that really do a lot of syncing of music, videos and podcasts, but i can't nit pick. Otherwise it's a great phone, won't regret the purchase.
Pros: tools, menus, camera/video quality, speaker, battery life, Wi-Fi capable, ease of use, good for texting, reliable, doesn't freeze, very fluid
Cons: build quality

I've had this phone for two weeks and it is very impressive! I waited a long time to get my first smartphone due to the fact that I really don't "need" a smartphone, This phone is very easy to use, very smooth in its operation, user friendly, and all-around great phone. It syncs beautifully with my Windows PC and has already made my day-to-day life easier and more fun. A great product. You will want to get some kind of silicone or gel case to put around this phone for better grip. What a pleasure to use!
Pros: tools, menus, camera/video quality, speaker, Wi-Fi capable, durable, ease of use, good for texting

Fast responsive phone. Mango is great. Onscreen keyboard works wonderfully. I wish it had a better speaker. The screen is beautiful from all angles. Voice to text / text to voice works over the Bluetooth in my car. Nice.
Pros: tools, menus, camera/video quality, Wi-Fi capable, ease of use, good for texting
Cons: battery life, speaker

This was an upgrade from Focus. The screen is so bright and clear, its amazing.
Thinner, lighter, faster and more memory. The Windows OS is really fast and the new apps are rockin. The extra space is very welcome on keyboard usability.
Battery is good so far. The only thing i hamve found as a con is that the mic doesnt work wnhen plugged into my car aux plug. My after market headphones work for phone calls with mic.
Beautiful phone.
Pros: camera/video quality, battery life, Wi-Fi capable, ease of use, good for texting
Cons: mic from car aux port

I have used blackberry and most recently the androids. Never been an Iphone fan. Of all the OS out there i have to say that windows 7.5 has got it! This is the easiest and most fluid OS out there. I will never go back!
Although the market is smaller then the others, I dont miss all the duplicate games and apps. I know in the near future windows will have an equally good marketplace.
The camera on this phone is awesome! much better then the Atrix or Atrix 2. Takes great photos.
Don't miss out on this one.
The only drawback is the speaker volume could be louder.
Pros: tools, menus, camera/video quality, Wi-Fi capable, durable, ease of use, good for texting
Cons: volume level, limited memory

Best Windows Phone experience ever

What an amazing device. Quick, seamless, the Windows Phone experience is great anyways, but this gem of a phone shows everything it is supposed to be. I spent over a year learning and testing out each Operating System, and I just was won over by the WP design. Samsung has put everything together here. You have to start with the amazing super AMOLED screen that just makes colors explode off the screen. The great, deep blacks that make those colors stand out. And the screen is so responsive that even the slightest motion is registered. It moves without any delay between one screen to the next, loads up even the most complex web sites in seconds, and is an amazing game playing device.
The camera is good, but not elite. Still, no problem with basic functions and has a decent amount of edit options. Battery life is really good, expect at least 10 - 12 hours of life. Yes, it is a plastic device, but Samsung makes durable products. You will not find any complaints of them falling apart. This is also really thin, and comfortable to carry. Reception and call quality are both great. I use the phone a lot, so this would have been a deal breaker for me. On screen keyboards work well. Really functional Word, Power Point and Excel functions. This is a good work device.
You do need to know a couple quick cons:
-There is limited storage that cannot be expanded. So if you are a big gamer or music buff, keep in mind you will only have about 14 GB of storage.
-Not all screens work in landscape. That can be annoying.
-Shutter speed on the camera is slow.
I highly suggest you give the Focus S a try. It has been a joy to use.
Pros: tools, battery life, durable, ease of use, seamless operation
Cons: limited memory

Fantastic Windows Phone experience!

Android, iPhone? No thanks, I decided to go the Windows Phone route and I am 100% satisfied with my decision. The OS is a work of art with the live tiles, integrated Facebook and Twitter, and best of all, the best email experience in my opinion. Add the excellent hardware of the Samsung Focus S and you have an amazing smartphone experience. To me, the biggest con was the battery life. I get about 15-20 hours a day, which isn't too bad, buy coming from a feature phone I was used to a couple days worth. I recommend not only this product, but this OS to everybody! It may also be worth your time to check out the HTC Titan, a 4.7" Windows Phone made out of aluminum. PS: I forgot to mention how buttery smooth the OS. Laggy Android? No thanks.
Pros: tools, menus, Wi-Fi capable, ease of use, good for texting, games, camera/video quality, speaker, durable, the operating system, facebook
Cons: battery life
