Love Our New Upright Freezer

Great capacity; very functional

Since the wintertime temps are below freezing, it had to be freezerless. It has lots of room and is perfect for when my wife is preparing big dishes for gatherings and for the leftovers, too.

Not Energy Star worthy

We use it for backup storage, open it once or twice a day at most, and as I mentioned it's fully stocked, and yet it cycles on and off several times a day, spanning a 9 degree difference in temperature.
The ONLY reason we purchased it was because of its supposed energy efficiency, having preferred the styling of a different brand.
We are very disappointed and won't in future trust any Frigidaire energy star rating.

An incorrectly adjusted thermostat can cause the freezer's compressor to start and kick off. The inside temperature of the freezer determines when the thermostat sends the signal to power the compressor. Setting the thermostat to a lower setting can possibly alleviate your concerns.

A Great Appliance

FROST PROBLEM

We've had this freezer for about a year. There is a persistent problem with frost forming on the top of the door on the inside. ABT service stated that this happens all the time and not to worry about it; there is no fix! This is the 3rd freezer we've had in 40+ years and the first one with this issue. I wouldn't have chosen this one if I had known of the problem.
