It's doing it's job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a large chest one for many years. How to store food in an upright is a challenge. I think some shelf engineering would be beneficial. Maybe some shelf dividers or at least some pictures that would show the best way to get the most use the space.

Danvan, I sure can relate to your struggle with freezer storage. I have a few tips that may help you conquer the upright freezer. My first and best tip is as much as possible, freeze things flat. Put that leftover chili in a freezer bag, seal, and lay the bag flat in the freezer until frozen. Flat things of an even thickness are easier to stack or organize upright in a container, and label them with the date. Use inexpensive square bins from the discount store to keep like foods together (and label them with what is in the bin). Separate that great deal on 10 lbs. of chicken into dinner portions, before you end up thawing the whole shebang. I find organizing the shelves into types of food works best for my family. I have baskets on the bottom for vegetables. Next shelf up from the bottom is frozen potato goodies and convenience food. Top and second shelves are for meats (organized in those bins). Not Impressed-Down Right Unhappy
