Four months in, everything works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The seal is excellent. It's a manual defrost unit, which is important for the storage of lab samples. The temperature must reliably remain at -20 deg. There have been no surprises.

Absolutely Beyond Expectations - Fabulous!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago to replace a smaller upright freezer. I researched the various features and brands and found the Frigidaire manual defrost model came out on top, even when inquiries were made at local independent repair shops! We are in and out of the freezer daily and have no issues with frost build up of any kind. Its interior space is amazing, it fit everything from our old upright freezer and a half beef and as well as a good size deer in it and we still have room to spare! The interior light is a great feature as is all of the storage in the door. And the door seal, it is great. While it is very tight, you can still open the freezer with "adult" effort. I wish I had made this purchase a long time ago. Everything is so well organized and easy to get to and the factory settings for the freezer are more than adequate for keeping anything well frozen! A GREAT freezer, period!

Love the in-shelf coolant coils!

Love it and has TONS of room

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this at the end of Oct and it was delivered on Nov 3. I purchased it from a local appliance store rather than one of the big box store and paid the same price but received better delivery service. The guys delivered it, leveled it and said I could move the stuff from my old freezer into this new one immediately without issue, they were right and I've had no issues. I had so much room going from a smaller Admiral upright freezer, about 20 yrs old, to this new one I was able to move stuff out of the kitchen freezer into this one too, what a joy to be able to do that.
Per the instructions with the freezer it comes with the temperature control preset which should be good for the garage where mine is located. I was told by the local appliance store if I was going to have a freezer in my garage it had to be a manual defrost it couldn't be a frost free or it wouldn't work correctly and I'd have issues keeping the food frozen. Because I've had issues with the old freezer I was concerned with frost building up inside of this one but in the 2 months since we've had it we haven't had that problem and would have by now with the old one, again jumping for JOY. This one is so large I had enough room to also put 3 hams and a turkey in it along with all my other food to prep for upcoming functions for the holidays.
It's reassuring to see the green light at the bottom of the freezer telling me it's on and running. It has a tight seal and once you close the door it takes a bit of tugging to open it again. My local appliance store recommended putting thin coating of Vaseline on the door gasket every 3 months to keep it pliable so it won't dry out and cause gaps. I'm not trilled with the flimsy plastic for the shelving in the door I would have liked it to be a little stiffer and I have to remember not to grab for it when the door swings open to catch the door. There's plenty of room in the door shelves to store frozen juice bars or tubes of frozen sausage etc. The height of the shelves is perfect to meet my needs I didn't like the layout of some of the other styles they offered. On the bottom of the freezer there's no basket so I have my tubs or boxes of butter stored there or my large bags of chowda. Being a manual defrost the shelves are nice and sturdy and can handle the weight of 2 hams plus other food without issue.
I took a very long time deciding on this model of freezer and am not regretting my choice I'd recommend it to anyone looking for tons of freezer storage or one for your garage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice quiet running unit, with great storage amount, easy to see items in the freezer, can't see anything wrong at all with this model, hope it lasts at least all half as long as the 46 yr old unit it replaced, which was still running great, and never had any problems.
