As a elderly person I admit all the knobs and buttons intimidated me but have found very EASY to operate and really quiet for first floor laundry. I purchased the matching dryer and equally happy with the dryer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the GFWR 4805 and the 485 dryer set 3 months ago. We have had 4 service calls on the washer so far and it is still not cleaning the cloths. I am now standing here having to restart the dryer every 2minutes because it keeps saying the cycle is complete.
Wish I had my old cheap set back.

Have owned it for a couple of months and had repair work done more than a handful of times. Infarct waiting on repair work yet again! Horrible! Waste of money!

I'm on my 3rd "recall" for the soap dispenser. detergent, softener, bleach all run down the front. soap builds up under the dispenser...clothes aren't as clean as with my old "other brand". bummer

More water on the floor than inside the unit.

We purchased this unit last month and up until this weekend were satisfied with it. Unfortunately the unit has developed several leaks (around the seal to the front door and at the clean out in the bottom of the unit). After several attempts to clean out and reseat the drain cap and clear the door seal we contacted warranty.
I saw several other reviews indicating similiar issues with this unit - guess we were warned.
The repairman is coming out today so the final decision is out on the washer.

4th times may be charm

The first 2 arrived damaged, the 3rd would not agitate or spin, and had rust on the stainless tub! We are now on our 4th it seems to work however atempting the first load of four pair of jeans it took five minutes prior to adding any water. Thinking these are supposed to be HE type machines the preprogrammed cycles seem to be excessively long. Also would not recommend the red color as factory scratches are disappoint for the price level of the machine
