This phone would be a pretty decent phone. The touch screen is great, and the navigation is easy. The screen is remarkably responsive. Scrolling takes some getting used to, but becomes second nature. The side buttons are convenient and easy to use. And then, against all odds, the QWERTY comes sliding out. This pretty good phone turns to something fantastic. The ease of a touch screen with the convenience of a full key board make this phone a remarkable piece of technology. Calling is a breeze and voices come through crystal clear. Speaker phone is good, and music player quality is fabulous. The QWERTY buttons have the right amount of pressure, and the settings are completely customizable. There are 3 home screens; your basic home, where you have the option of added up to 6 widgets. Music, Analog Clock, Calendar, Media Net, Memos, and Pictures. (however, not all can fit on the screen, so choose wisely) There is also a favorite contacts home screen, where you can select contacts which you may contact easier, and a favorite apps home screen, which lets you select up to nine apps to easily access. The top bar on your home screen also scrolls down to become a convenient task menu, allowing access to music, bluetooth, and your profile setting. (vibrate, ring, silent, etc.) The menu is easily navigated, and te b xting is a breeze. Sadly, the 3 buttons on the bottom of the phone (Call, Hang Up/End, and multitasking) scratch somewhat easily and are in a vulnerable position. The micro SD card slot on the side is conveniently placed, unlike other phones which occasionally slip it under the battery. The 2.0 megapixel camera works well, but could be better. It captures accurate lighting, but videos occasionally come out choppy. The picture quality is great and the flash works well in lighting the area. The delay, however, can become quite irritating in attempting to capture live action shots. All in all, the LG xenon is a great upgrade or new phone, and works for all purposes.
Pros: Quality, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design
Cons: Features/Settings

Great Phone, But Some Cons To Consider
on February 21, 2010

I got this phone a couple months ago after much online research, and for the first couple weeks I absolutely loved this phone. However, after I had it for a few weeks, I was listening to a song I had put on my micro SD memory card, when it suddenly said there was an error and the screen froze. After a few minutes of struggling with it, I plugged it into the charger, took the memory card out and it finally turned off and back on. I deleted all the songs off the card, but wanted to keep the pictures on it, so I plugged it back in and everything seemed to be fine. But every day for the next week or so, it would flip out for no apparent reason. I would get a text, hit 'view' and it would just send me back to the home screen. I would hit 'inbox' and it would do the same, consistently. It got very annoying but I found that when I plugged it into the charger, it would work. Then, as time went on, it wouldn't even work when I plugged it in, or I'd have to leave it plugged in for a few hours for it to work (all of this after not only taking the card out, but doing a Master Reset on the phone multiple times). It would start opening and closing the ring volume, and recent calls and phonebook screens when it flipped out. I have had the card out of it for over a month now and it has gotten better in the past couple weeks. Now, it only does all of this once every few days or if it has been unplugged from the charger for more than about 10 hours (though the battery still says it's full!). I don't know if it is because of all of this or not, but another problem I have had with it is not being able to turn it on OR off without it being plugged into the charger. This was annoying when it would turn itself off while it was messing up for those few weeks. Like I said, I don't know if it was because of the memory card incident or not, because when I turned my phone on when I first got it, I never turned it off... at night I would just leave it plugged in.
The phone has some very cool features. It has three homescreens... one of which you can choose favorite contacts and add pictures to them. I have had trouble with this screen, as well (before the memory card incident). For some reason, whether I have the orientation fix turned on or off, it will scramble the little icons and I have to rearrange them all the time.
Another neat feature of this phone is the camera, however there is a delay on taking the picture. When you hit the button to take the picture, it pauses the screen like it's already taken the picture, but if you or whatever you're taking a picture of moves in the next second or two after this, it will become blurred. That being said, for taking still-shots, this camera is quite good. And, the picture editting feature (which you can do with pictures you're taking or have already taken) is really neat. You can add many different effects to it, like sepia, negative, water color effect or tweak the saturation, sharpness, etc. You can even draw on pictures and there are a few cute frames to choose from as well.
One of the things I read about this phone in some reviews was that the touch screen was very responsive. This was true for the first month or so, but since then, I do have to push some buttons 2 or 3 times before they go and scroll bars can be particularly annoying on this phone. However, it is nice that you can recallibrate the touch screen anytime you like, and I find resetting this usually makes it more sensitive again.
Another user review mentioned that the buttons under the touch screen scratch easily. I found this to be true, also. I have had this phone for only a couple months and there are many noticable scratches on these buttons, but no scratches at all on the touchscreen itself. I've also found the touchscreen very easy to clean and pretty durable.
Two main things I was looking for in a phone were that you could set multiple alarms (not just one) and that it could play songs you download onto it as ringtones. I couldn't find information about either of these specifically in the reviews I read. It does have multiple alarms, which I find very useful myself, however, you cannot play songs you've downloaded as ringtones. Or if you can I have not been able to do it myself after hours of tinkering, putting songs on the memory card or the phone itself have not worked.
All in all, though I have experienced some difficulties with this phone, I would definitely recommend it. It's very customizable and has some neat features, I just wish I would have known what I do now before I bought it.
Pros: Features/Settings, easy to use, Style/Design

Awesome Phone

This is my first phone, and I love it! Even my cousin who currently has the Iphone said theat she would rather have this phone!
Pros: I have the blue Xenon, and I love how it has a design on the back. I dont have texting on my plan, along with internet, or IM, so im not familiar with these. I love the qwerty keyboard, and the battery is great! Did you know, if you set the brightness level to 0%, its still extremley bright, but it saves power!
Cons: I was in love with the EnV touch, untill my friend got it. she had to touch the phone with her fingernail for it to actually respond. I do wish that the Xenon would have a better Camera, and a drawing pad feature. along with a headphone slot! I love this phone, and I hope you do too!
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design
I would recommend this to a friend!

The visual impact of the phone is great, but even more significant is the outstanding sound quality on calls. The Xenon can do well just about anything you might want a cell phone for.

Over all issues

I got this phone in replace of my old one which had broken. I had it for a while before I noticed the screen would flicker when I touched black part right above the call and end buttons. I gave LG a call, and they where great to send me out another phone in replacement. I've had this replacement for a month, if that, before the same issue occurred! I need to call AGAIN to get ANOTHER replacement. It is a manufacture issue, and is becoming a pain in my behind. On top of that, I need to charge the battery every night, and the screen freezes. After every text message I get, it goes back to a empty message screen. The only way to get rid of it is to lock the phone, and then unlock it. It's a pain every time I reply to a text to have to do that. My first LG was a 10 dollar flip phone, and it went to heck and back with out any damage, and because of that LG seemed good to me. They need to fix this issue with the Xenon, other wise I will be switching brands.

Worst Touch Experience
on April 10, 2011

I've had this phone over a year now and it's touch screen is very unresponsive and frustrating...I could never answer a call without having to touch "accept" at least 3 or 4 times. I recalibrated the screen often and it would get a little better for a while but then very unresponsive. Now, after 1 year and out of warranty, the screen won't respond at all to my touch...and I'm unable to do anything but answer the phone. Find another LG phone!

Im Impressed with it

I upgraded from a Motorola Razar, so this is somewhat of a major step for me. I am also new to the multimedia scene that emails, text and IM. This phone has made the transition very easy for me for I found it easy to get familiar with utilizing the various features. After owning this phone for only five weeks the touch screen stopped working which basically disaled it making it useless. Warranty rplacement is in progress.

Great Phone

I purchsed this phone due to the fact that I lost my last phone. However, this phone has all the features I love and need, but the only problem I have is with the Battery. You can't talk for more than 45 minutes before the battery needs recharging. This is the ONLY thing I find wrong with this phone. The features are awesome, otherwise. LG need to redesign the battery for this phone. If you don't carry a charger EVERY WHERE you go, you would have to limit your talk time.
