Great Stereo. Small Price Tag!!

After reviewing many stereos with the same price range and features I finally settled on this stereo because of the many great reviews I had read about it. Although I did read a few negative reviews where the complaints were mostly about how hard it was to tune the stereo. Well after I installed my new stereo I tested the sound with 4 1/2" door and sill speakers. Without any tuning the stereo sounded better than any other stereo I have purchased, I used to be a Pioneer only guy. (Great work Sony you have earned my business) Then I got into the menus and found the C.AUDIO feature which really made the sound even better. Now after having this stereo for a couple months I have no major complaints. The small complaints I do have is actually about the APP REMOTE software for Android phones. The app remote should allow me to search through my songs in Play Music, but using the stereo interface and not have to go to my phone to do so. The other being Pandora, I should be able to see and search through my stations without having to look at the phone and without having to turn my source over to BT Pandora. An update to the APP REMOTE software would be really awesome. Besides that I have no other complaints. I would recommend this stereo to anyone who wants an advanced stereo in their vehicle with great sound quality and who is still on a budget. I will be purchasing another stereo of the exact same model for my truck shortly.

Great Sound with easy to use Bells and Whistles

This is a complete media player less video with every bell and whistle available at this time. I use it daily for playing music from my mp3 player, the bluetooth for hands free use of my Iphone 5S and the radio.
Everything works great and it is fairly easy to learn to operate. As well I will listen to Audio Books on SD cards thru the usb port. Although I have not yet tried this, I expect no issues other than learning how to navigate the SD card via the player's controls The front audio jack and usb port make aux input and charging a breeze.
At this point I do not use all of the features that this unit offers and don't use the phone capabilities to full potential which I will at some point in the near future. The important thing is that learning to use the features is not a threat to me because everything I use to date is fairly intuitive. The bluetooth linking basically takes care of itself unlike previous units I have had.
I only had space for a single din radio in my vehicle and was somewhat apprehensive about buying something like this without touchscreen operation. I have very big hands and fingers and have found this unit easy to operate once I became familiar with all the buttons. I still have some learning to do after three weeks of use but to reiterate, I am anxious to learn how rather than being threatened by it.
Finally, I am very happy with the sound. I did try out all the different offerings of the equalizer but decided the Sony Factory setting to be the most pleasing to my ear. I use 4 5x7 speakers in a small pickup and am very pleased with the sound at all volume levels. I am 65 yrs old and still enjoy quality sound but I see no need for additional amplifiers or bass speakers.

Great radio

I love this radio. The sound is great with the speakers that came with the 2005 car. Clarity and the bluetooth was the easiest ever to pair with my phone. It's XM ready and I had it connected as well. So far I have no cons to report. Just a great sound and simple functions.
This stereo is an upgrade to another Sony turner/cassette player in my car (XR-C6120). I didn't really research any other stereos prior to purchasing my new stereo/tuner. Sony is a trusted brand. What I like most about this stereo is the ease of installation and setup. Pairing my Bluetooth devices was a snap, and what I particularly enjoy is the hands free voice controls, and as an added bonus, the option to change the illumination color to match my dash illumination. This is a great stereo and I can't say that I am surprised with it's sound quality. In my opinion, Sony has always seem to put first performance and sound quality in all of their products, not just Marine and Automotive but all. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

This recent purchase has replaced my Toyota's original 'Crutchfield Upgrade Purchase' done in 1992.(stereo/speakers) I was very happy with all its modern features, stereo power, and performance. The pricing was an acceptable bargain as well Once again installation was a snap and tidy.

Great features---poor FM sensitivity

Receiver has a lot of great features for the price. I am very disappointed with FM reception---the 14 year old unit that it replaced was far superior to the Sony.

Small screen and confusing buttons, but then again, I don't need all the bells and whistles. Just good sound and bluetooth.
