Works well, it would be nice to have enough space to leave my case on the phone while docked.

Good for power & 3.5mm jack - no USB connectivity

When they say "desktop dock" that's what they mean, literally. It is a dock that goes on a flat surface like a desktop. It is NOT a dock that connects the phone to your desktop (or laptop) computer to provide USB connectivity. If this dock had the added functionality of true USB connectivity then it would rate 4 stars. Unfortunately, the USB connector on the back only delivers power.
What looks like a speaker on the back is just a passive accoustic port for allowing phone sound via the phone's rear speaker to bounce around a bit and come out the back of the dock. The sound, not surprisingly, is pretty much the same as the phone's stand alone built in speaker sound.
The USB connector port in the back comes in at a slight angle so device works best either upright or tilted on its left side (so holder is to right as you look at it).If you try tilting it to the left side, the USB cable runs into the desktop and so would the 3.5mm audio jack beneath it.
The fit is snug, so if you've got any kind of case on the phone, you're going to have to remove it before you can put the phone in the dock.
There are rubber feet on the bottom of the dock which will hold the dock in place on a smooth surface without sliding around as you use the phone's touch screen if you use a light touch. There aren't any such feet on either side, so the dock tends to slide around when you use the phone's touch screen when laying on its side (particularly if you press at the top of the phone).
So overall, if you want a cradle to just hold your phone and charge it, or to hold it and charge it while listening to it on another device through the 3.5mm jack, this is fine.
It could have been substantially improved by a) equiping it with a full USB port, b) making it a bit heftier and with additional rubber grips so it doesn't slide quite so easily when interacting with the phone on a smooth surface, and c) the icing on the cake would be to make the sides adjustable outward so it would work with a slim protective case.
Pros: stylish, solid build
Cons: expensive, no usb data connectivity, won't work with a case
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Docking Station

Works really good, and charges the device while it sits there. I just wish that I didn't have to take my case off every time to dock it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Dock - but no MHL support?

Only thing that this is missing is MHL support so I could hook it up to a monitor... It's one of the things that I'd like to test with these newer phones - can they truly replace a desktop for some people?
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def
