Love My New Range!

I don't understand today's obsession with the smooth surface ranges. I love this model with the coils because I can cook with any pan I choose, cast iron, stainless, etc. And if one burner quits working, it can be replaced as opposed to the entire cook surface being replaced at a huge cost. Also, I love the sleek look of this drop in style. The free standing are clunky looking and the slide ins don't look much better, not to mention all the gunk that falls between the stove and counter top. I also love white appliances. The stainless and black are dark and gloomy, not the pristine look one gets with white. Guess I am out of step with today, but I love this new white drop in range.

Great oven and range!

I bought this GE 30" 5.3 DropIn oven after 30 years. So far after two months this is a great oven and stove. The only problem was the stainless drip pans it came with. Very dirty after FEW uses. Went to a major appliance store and they had GE black drip pans for a very inexpensive price. We are thrilled! To make up for the space at the bottom, we had a contractor use wood and then placed talavera tiles at the bottom and around our stove. We have a Mexican House so this was perfect!

Glad to know that this unit is still produced. Replaced a GE drop-in range from the early 90's. Only concern is they no longer make this model with the self-cleaning oven feature. Do not understand why GE discontinued that as our earlier range had that feature. Also would have preferred Stainless Steel.
