[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is my first LED flat screen, and wow! it whomped my expectations!! what the heck have I been waiting for?!? I've replaced bulbs in older models, but... I haven't used the split-screen or the other functions, but as a straight-up monitor, as ordered!
Pros: Quality

Great Monitor for the price.

The first thing I liked when I assembled the monitor to the stand was the ability to rotate the monitor to a vertical position. This made cable connections very easy.
Very easy to set up with the menu options. I liked the auto-positioning feature.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Excellent picture quality

The screen quality of this monitor is excellent. Great picture and I like the "Reader" setting. Gave it four stars instead of five because I feel it lacks two things: there is no software to adjust the screen from the computer but more importantly, the settings buttons on the monitor do not illuminate (hard for me to see in certain lighting situations, so I need a flashlight to see what each button controls). Overall, I do like the quality (better than other monitors I have looked at for the price I paid) and if you don't care about the two issues I described, I recommend this monitor.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ok… if you’re like me you prefer that your reviews not simply be fluff. I’m a shoot-from-the-hip kind of guy and I’m going to tell you exactly like it is with this monitor. Do yourself a favor and get one! When I was shopping for a monitor several of the salesmen were gamers and kept quoting the 2 nanosecond response time of a different monitor, how fast it was, and how it was the ultimate. I looked at the specs for this monitor and it was 5 nanoseconds, if I recall correctly. It didn’t take me but a second to change the entire departments mind about this being a superior monitor over the one everyone was trying to claim was the best on the market. Let me explain.
For transistor internal switching to have a difference of 3 nanoseconds is almost pointless. That is a difference between .000000002 of a second and .000000005, .000000003 (to the ninth fractional decimal place) of one second. I wasn’t convinced the human eye could even detect this difference. I went to the next choice of comparison… the picture quality.
This monitor destroyed the others hands down, for two obvious reasons:
The first being the color was exceptionally rich. Superior. Period.
The second is the fact that virtually all monitors today have a glass overlay with most being touch screens. This causes any and every external light source to show glare on the screen, whether it be from a lamp, an over head light, or through a window from the sun. To me this should be as high on any priority list as any, especially if you are a gamer. Doesn’t everyone want their picture quality to be brilliant and without glare?
I argued that if they were seeing glitches and hesitations clearly visible during game play that is must be coming from the game player/disk, and not from the speed of the monitor transistors. Note that this monitor is not slow compared to the entire rest of the industry. It just happened to be a remarkably small amount slower than the other single particular monitor they were already sold on. (others were in the 7 to 9 nanosecond range of transistor switching speed). My opinion seemed to boggle the salesmen’s minds. They changed to loving the LG IPS monitor on the spot.
Whether you are a gamer, a professional photographer / graphic artist, or simply an end-user and wish to have the richest viewing experience out there, this LG monitor is exactly what you need. It comes with a couple of drivers that include “True Color” which is used by all video production companies to adjust the color of all the entertainment you see, before it gets washed out by the lesser quality televisions. It also has a “Split-Screen” driver that allows you to split the screen (as many times as you wish. 2, 4, or many more) that I use to easily view and compare two documents side-by-side.
Save yourself time and trust this review. Don't get lost in any numbers thrown your way. Take a look and see for yourself. Get yourself one of these and you’ll be very happy with your choice and your monitor.

Great monitor

This is a great sized monitor. I use it for viewing construction blueprints and as a 2nd screen. I would have given it a 5-star rating, but next to my Mac, the picture isn't as sharp. For the money, it is a great monitor and is easy to use, easy to adjust, and I would recommend it if you view large items such as plans.

This was a gift and added as the primary monitor of a dual monitor setup. Very nice design and functionality for the price. Picture quality is great (just used primarily for office applications). Pulled some pictures up and color was astounding.
