After much searching, I am satisfied that these are excellent headphones. Are there better headphones to be had? If so, I have not heard them, and I have tried many. The S300i have that characteristic JBL sound: tight, but not overwhelming bass; a full, rich, and balanced sound; and a clarity that you can't find elsewhere. Would over ear headphones be more comfortable? Perhaps, but these fit the bill easily. My only question is what would the S500 and S700 series sound like? Can they be that much better than the S300i?

Very nice sound

I have listened to all types of music on these earphones -- from rock to bluegrass to classical and am very pleased with the sound. I have another pair of good earphones and several pair of highend earbuds, but prefer these JBL's over them all. The on-ear fit and comfort is very nice, and they can be used for several hours of continuous listening withing discomfort.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just purchase these headphones. I bought it cause I want a headphone that has great sound overall and I also like bass can anybody explain how great the bass is?

Love the sound, but the L shape audio input wire AND VOLUME is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE iphone outer box. No volume control. Other wise a beautiful sound. Audio input jack doesn't fit. The cord skittle bit too short

im not an expert, but the sound is very good balance, with good bass and nids and highs,in a symphony balance. i like how it folds many ways,and the remote buttons function very nice, and much variation. ...yes the cord is alittle too short.
