Poorly engineered

I am not happy with this refrigerator. The left door on this appliance does not close easily. It constantly sets off the alarm. The water/ice dispensing panel is poorly lit. Very hard to see the water, crushed ice, and ice signage.The water dispenser is too low. When dispensing ice you can almost never get it dispensed without dropping at least one piece on the floor. You must hold your glass/container right up underneath the spout. You can't rest it on the shelf and do it for ice. The ice maker always has pieces that are connected (two pieces together). The large drawer has the capability of being divided (like for meat and cheese) but no divider is provided or made for this although the pictures on line show it divided. The ice maker on the door is very good, although you can not use the ice maker or the water dispenser with the right door open. (both doors must be closed) The filter does not tell you when to replace it.

Poor rating due to 4 service calls in first 4 week

We had 4 service calls in the first 4 weeks on this refrigerator. We lost food twice. I am very disappointed. I could understand one infancy failure, but 4 is unacceptable

Purchased in February - fan motor went out in March. GE swapped it out with a new one...4 months later the fan motor is bad. DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE!!! Customer Relations people at GE do not do a good enough job with Customer Service - SPEND YOUR MONEY ON ANOTHER BRAND AND DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON SERVICE CALLS!

Beautiful but broke fast

It was installed in our new home in December and by March the fan had already broke.

I bought this unit 2 months ago and it is not working. The fan stopped working that distributes the cool air to the top of the fridge

Not as good as the previous model

I got this refrigerator as a replacement for a previous unit that I bought just last year, since that model was discontinued (GFE27GSDESS). My "old" (just 1 yr old) had much better features. The display and control were much better, the internal LED were also brighter and it even came with a Dairy Bin and additional freezer trays. This new model's general appearance is unpolished and it feels cheap! Very unhappy with this trade out. They should have given me money back. It's probably one of the few examples were the newer model comes with less features than its predecessor.
