Nice Features

This freezer has temperature adjustment, warm alarm, on light and two large baskets--all nice features. But when the compressor is running it is too buzzing and noisy as we have it near our living space.

FREEZER REPLACEMENT

MY FREEZER DIED ON ME AND HAD TO REPLACE IT QUICK. I CALLED MY APPLIANCE STORE AND HE HAD ONE IN STOCK ,BROUGHT IT OUT AND HOOKED IT UP AND IT DID NOT TAKE BUT A FEW MINUTES AND IT WAS READY FOR ME TO TRANSFER MY FOOD FROM OLD TO NEW. WE LOVE IT.

Bought this a few months ago and it's been running great. Keeps the food frozen, the inside light is a great feature. Wish there were a few more baskets to stay organized, but overall a great product and great value. Thanks!

I just bought this product because our upright freezer would not freeze correctly and the door would not always seal. This freezer is better because it takes up less room, the door will always close, and it is freezing at 0 degrees.

Good size, solid top, but too noisy.

Overall, I like this freezer, but I thought it was updated, like the smaller versions. I also have the 7 cf, which I like much better - mainly for how quiet it is and how the lid fits (I thought this unit was the new design until I got it home - oh well!). I never worry about how well the lid is closed on the newer design of things 7cf verson, but I definitely do on the 14cf, older style unit. All that said, I like the size of the 14cf model, the size of the baskets, the solid door of both GE models (other companies' offerings are flimsy and appear cheaply made and like they won't last). The thing I really dislike about the 14cf model is how loud it is and virtually always making that sound. My basement is not the quiet sanctuary it once was - but at least I'll be able to store my wild game and fish! I'd it had the newer design in this size with the same features (lockable, temp alarm), I'd be able to wholeheartedly recommend it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
