Take the bad with the good

I needed help from a friend or I would have completeley missed out on one of the most important parts of a credit for my children. I did not like that every prompt had a fee. the program had a fee, you had to pay for the state and there was a fee for the state e-file too. I payed a total $150 for my fiancé and I to file.

TurboTax Not Needed

Given the current tax code and the size of the Standard Deduction the TurboTax software was not needed. In other words, itemizing deductions (Schedule A) is difficult to exceed the Standard Deduction of $11,600 (Married filing jointly).
I wasted $32 on TurbTax software. All I need is Form1040 (a simple 2-page form).

Best tax prep money spent

I am "computer challenged" and I actually got thourgh the whole program in about four hours. A lot better then doing the returns by hand!!IN fact "a lot better" is an understatement.
