Frustrations of Same S-E-XCouple and confusing law

Before calling phone support, I was extremely frustrated with Turbotax. I even went as far as to warn other gay couples married in NY not to use the software.
It was VERY frustrating having to do three times the amount of work as any other couple, as I had to create a "dummy" federal return as married to file the state , and then create two individual returns. I know that is a reflection on the tax code, and not you, but, I would appreciate it if you made the process user friendly. There was a lot of guesswork involved, which made me uncomfortable.
Luckily, phone/internet tech support saved the day. I actually called to request a refund on the product, but tax support and customer service were able to talk me through the process. Thank you for providing this service. Even though the software was frustrating, I will use Turbotax again, because I know I'll be supported when frustrated.
Also, I was glad that everyone I spoke to was warm and welcoming to me, as a gay individual. That speaks volumes to the the inclusiveness of your company.

was told would receive 5 free state efiles when i filed had to pay. only spouse received income in 1 state but your system added another 1000 from my income which i made in the state that i lived in all year

Over ten years ago we refinanced the house. We had no clue about the Escrow interest during the transit time between lenders. Turbo Tax asked the questions we weren't smart enough to ask. We have used Turbo Tax ever since. One year the IRS tried to include my son's taxes in our bill. It was very easy to review our information and send a short letter of explaination. Problem solved.

I had H and R Block look over my papers from 07,08,09 10, and 11 and they found no corrections or discrepancies.

Love me some TurboTax. Discovered it 3 years ago. Way quicker than doing it on your own. I always feel secure that I have completed my return correctly thanks to the built in prompts.
