I've used Turbo Tax for the past two years, yet my info was not updated to this year's filing. Why not?
This year I purchased the Basic Turbo Tax and online I was informed that the cost of filing my state return would be an additional $32. Instead, it was $43. Why the difference?
At the end of the filing process, I received a copy of my federal taxes, but NOT my state. Why not? And how can I be certain that it was filed if I didn't get a copy of it?

If you included a short list of documents you might need at the start while filing the tax return it would be helpful. Then you don't have to keep popping up to find things.

Outstanding software

My tax situation is simpler this year, so BASIC did the job. What could be easier? It does everything it should do, flawlessly, and nothing that it should not do. It sure beats any other method or practice for dealing with the annual dreaded tax season. I used one of the national tax preparers for years, then had to to use a CPA for many years because of the complicated tax situation I was in, then finally was able to move from TurboTax Premier (rental property), to Deluxe (small consulting business on the side) to Basic (I'm older, wiser and simpler now). I've never looked back and almost (I said "almost") look forward to tax time. That never occurred before TurboTax.

Add a question on the wrap up screen and ask if we want refund applied to next year or if we want a refund. Provide a place there to enter direct deposit info. I'm a professional tax preparer and use your Lacerte tax software. I like the forms view and detail view tabs in that software and would like to see the same in turbo tax. Also diagnostic page would be good and jump to input feature.
