A Solid Performance

TurboTax is a well established product that delivers a straight forward approach to assist users through the tax maze. The prompts are easy to understand and implement. I only have one source of income; however, TurboTax appears to be able to do much more than I need it for. I started using TurboTax several years ago and I have stayed with the name because of it's predictable reliability.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years without problems for either federal or state income tax. Had some problems this year because my wife died in December.
Was difficult to determine just how to deal with the death and how I should file. But I think we got it worked out.

Below...no option for widowed. OK I'm single now, but that does not convey correct image to me.

Easy to use - takes you step by step

Imports last years return. Imports many W-2's, Takes you step by step through your return. Has excellent help text. Actually makes most decisions for you based on data that you enter.
We have a medium complexity return. Own a home and both work for major corporations on salaries and have high deductible medical plans and retirement savings plans. It prompts us for itemized deductions and many things we don't even think about.
Took me roughly 3-4 hours to complete our 2011 return and file it electronically.
