Turbo Tax Basic

Review would be 5-star if not for rebate process. I purchased Basic software at Staples and e-filed 2011 federal & state returns, using downloaded program for latter. Instructions said I would be eligible for $19.95 refund for VA state filing after printing and filling out a rebate form at the Intuit Rebate Center. When going to that site and clicking for the form, however, it displayed a page saying, in effect, "Sorry, no promotions currently available." After retrying, I managed to get a rebate form. Unfortunately, it was for 2010 returns. I finally printed it anyway, crossed out 2010 and wrote in 2011. I'm mailing it along with the E-File Proof of Purchase and a store receipt for the Basic software. Since I was rejected for a similar rebate last year for some asinine reason, I'm not too optimistic this year. (If you can simplify tax returns, why can't you do likewise with your rebate process?)

It would have been beneficial for review purposes to have been able to print the Forms and Schedules as they were completed. This would have allowed me to find where the value for Form 1040 Line 44 came from since it was different from what the IRS tax tables indicated should have been there. After a couple hours of searching I found the reason in the Form 1040 Line 44 worksheet printout.

Unable to print return allowing tax refund to be applied to next years tax bill. Did not want a refund.
