Bottom line is that it is easy filling out the forms and sending via efile versus the irritation of filing in the 70's and 80's.

OK, but Confusion Over State Refund

It's step by step, but confusing and a lot of drudgery if you have to go back and fix things you missed or didn't understand the first time.
One confusion is over state refunds (form 1099-G). The way the program is designed, it seems as if the refund falls under "taxable refunds, credits, or offsets of state and local income taxes." I had to go to HR Block and pay $29 to find out that's not supposed to carried over there. The TurboTax automatic check doesn't detect the error. It seems like that could be fixed.

Great, with on caveat

We sold a second home. Following directions I ended up with the selling of two homes (one primary and one second) in the taxes.
It required some digging to figure out the problem, since reading the forms was not obvious. It was not until I changed one of the entered numbers and saw that the number had not changed on the form that I realized I had entered two (in two different sections of the program).

Awesome Customer Service

I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to fix my 17 year old son's taxes. At times I got a little impatient but the reps were calm and collected. Never once did I receive any type of attitude, and that NEVER happens!! They walked me right through everything until they knew it was fixed. Best customer service ever!!!!
