Disappointing Omission

If my wife had not been following along on the (available online) 2011 MICHIGAN INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX BOOK we would have been given no notice of the savings to be made (this is the last year for them) by filling Schedule 2, the part for listing contributions to State Universities, public broadcasting facilities and the like.
THIS WOULD HAVE LOST US $200!

Still easy to use. Almost a bit too easy. This years refund seemed a bit high so I had to start a new return and compare the results. They did match up so I pressed send and 2 seconds later it was filed. Electronic filing is a great feature.
I have a business and last year I was told by Turbo Tax people to buy the premium version. With a little research I found out (then) that the basic has all the forms you need to file as a Sole Proprietor. Don't get the more expensive version unless you absolutely need it.

Software needs to be modified so that, if a person enters that he lives in a non-tax state, it will automatically eliminate any further reference to a state return.

Easy and efficient this year

HSA contributions and distributions were straightforward, and well directed. Liked the ability to change (increase) zoom for viewing. Liked that there were fewer "offers" to buy the more advanced products. TurboTax Basic is good enough.
