Watch the foreign tax credit

After my initial return was rejected, it took me an extra 5 hours to go back through the process and eventually "jury-rigging" the data to get the Form 1116 into a condition (I hope) that the IRS would accept it via E-file. I especially enjoyed the TurboTax advice at one point that, after going through the interview multiple times (in order to get the data in the proper order (!) per their guided advice), that if it still didn't work, I would have to file a paper return. Swell.
I may look elsewhere next year.

No Form 1099-S

There is no Form 1099-S and there is apparently no way to override anything on Sch D, so if you sold real estate you have to get creative.
BTW, what happened to the right click override?

Best Tax Return Product I have used.

I have used other tax software products through the years and I feel this is the best one I have ever used. I like the fact you can e-file for free and print a paper copy but also burn a CD for future reference. Almost made tax preparation fun.

OVERALL POOR; The format jumped around.The definitions were not consistent with the questions. ie, when statements on medical expenses allowed were not clear,at the end of the statement link said ( explain this} it came up with. Medical bills are considered paid when / they are paid?? This came up no matter the Q ! I have been using turbo tax for many years. This experience was VERY DISAPPOINTING

I always have enjoyed using TT for my taxes for many years. Transferring data from previous years really makes the process fast. e-File is great, too. The step by step interview process minimizes any chance for errors.

Good software, more support

Filing was easy this year with TurboTax, first time I've used it. Had a question about renter's credit and overlapping months (since I paid rent on two places in June as I moved out of one and into the other) but had trouble finding help on the "Live" support. From the commercials, I thought I'd be able to call an agent and get a question answered... Doesn't seem to be true.
Easy and quick, though. I'll probably use TurboTax again next year.
