Turbo Tax will not allow me to file my return. NEED HELP BUT CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND ANY HELP.
Have used Turbo Tax for years. First time I have needed to get an answer and have discdovered the product is not user friendly in this area.

Wasted Paper

When I print a copy of my return, there is no option NOT to print the instructions and the quarterly estimated payment forms.I do not need those that the program supplies because the IRS always sends them to me---which is a waste of paper. Also, besides the return I print for filing (after a screw up with my electronically filed 09 return---information was left off the transmitted schedule D which caused the IRS to accuse me of not reporting all my dividend and capital gains income) I now send the IRS a paper copy and, of course, print a second copy for my records. Since I already have the printed instructions from the first return, I do not need a second copy of the instructions There is no way that I can see to choose not to print these instructions when I print my records copy, so a few more sheets of paper are wasted. Otherwise, the program easily gets four stars. MIke

Good product overall

Don't like having to scroll down to get to the continue button on the bottom of the interview pages as you finish sections. I think this started last year and makes it more cumbersome! Don't really need to see all those prior sections summarize and then need to scroll down. Just have it go to the next section and then don't need as many clicks.
Also, on importing information, prior years info as far as charities contributed to, IRA basis, etc did not transfer from the PDF file. the less typing the better and would prefer Charity names and addresses prepopulated.

I got a free Basic version of Turbo Tax and decided to give it a try. I have used other tax software programs in the pass but I find that Turbo tax software was the easiest to use. I like how quickly I was able to fill out all the information needed to complete the tax forms. E-Filing was a breeze. Will consider using it again next year.

Still do not understand why The 'tax carry over worksheet' says I over-paid by $ 1,572 but my refund was only $1,021 ??????

Besides not being able to amend a return more than once - which happens when you get complex returns - I have to say the "speedy capital gains" input is a real pain. It doesn't like more than a screen or so of data, hangs up as I try to find a blank line, won't let me delete a blank line between two active ones, and is very, very slow getting to the next line. How about letting us create new input forms for this the way we do with interest or charity? Some of us have more than one brokerage form to input.
Also, the charitable input form is a real pain for the simple donations (say, $10 once to the Boy Scouts). It works wonderfully for complex donations, but makes the easy ones hard.
