10 years + and no problem!
on March 27, 2012

I have used Turbo Tax to do my Taxes for about 10 years now. Never had a problem understanding directions. Never miss any possible deductions. Never worry about audit or other such headaches. Yes, I still pay for the audit protection every year. Not because I'm worried, because it's smart and affordable. My 3 grown daughters swear by Turbo Tax as well.

Not helpful for filing for deceased relative. Needs a question up front that sends filer down the proper path.

I have used Turbo Tax and Quicken for over 10 years now and I continue to be impressed with the quality of the software. No crashes and all is quite intuitive.
If you ever need a tester for your new versions, I can help!
I'm a truly satisfied customer.

Problem submitting return
on April 17, 2012
Posted by: jjkfl
There is a problem submitting the return using the credit card payment option. If the submit doesn't process (ie balance too low with tax and fee charge) the process stops BUT it keeps a hold of the fee charge on the credit card. So when you submit again, a second charge hold results. That makes the true credit card balance wrong and can result in the submit dying again. The solution: when the process stops because the credit card balance is too low for the combined amount of tax and fee the fee hold should be backed out. Thanks.

Slow starting program
on April 23, 2012
Posted by: Turf
1) The slowest running program on my PC. Sometimes takes 5-10 minutes to start, even without the download updates. 2) I went through the entire process of e-file, entered my bank acct. info for the refund, saved to PDF, printed the forms, gave my credit card # and thought I was done before April 17. Checked on my refund status a week later and found out it had never been filed!!! Not sure what happened, probably my fault for not checking, but some sort of warning would have been appropriate.

simple & efficient

After paying a tax preparer big bucks for a few years, I got smart and got Turbo Tax - a lot cheaper, and just as simple. All I do is answer Turbo Tax's questions - just like with a paid tax preparer - and they do the calculations. I have used Turbo Tax for approx. 8 years. It's a breeze.

Keeps me from drowning
on March 16, 2012

When I lost my husband, I lost my tax preparer. I thought I was doomed to years of someone who doesn't care filling it out in the future. But thank goodness for sons! Mine said, "Don't worry, Mom. Use TurboTax. Even you can do it." That was in 2004, and I've been doing it ever since. I do my Aunt's for her, and recommend to anyone who'll listen, but too many are afraid.
Thanks, Turb for being so smart and easy.
