I've been using TurboTax Basic annually for nearly 20 years. I file a 1040, schedules B, C (sometimes two), D, E, and 5-10 numbered schedules.
Over the years, I have noticed a steady progression of two disfavorable features:
1) Frequent offers to upgrade, at a substantial cost, to a higher version of TurboTax that I do not need for my return.
2) Increasing difficulty to navigate around the Step-By-Step interview. Used to be, if I wanted to return to a certain section, I could select it on a drop-down navigation menu. Now I have to start from the beginning of a lengthy "Explore On My Own" selection screen.
3) As the years go by, the text presented on the screen is worded noticeably more and more simplistically. I'd say that a third-grader now can understand TurboTax. I would like to see an option at the beginning for experienced, sophisticated users.
On the plus side, TurboTax Basic is inexpensive, simple and quick. I will continue to purchase this product for as long as I have to file federal income tax returns.

I have been using Turbo Tax fe ten years now and will continue in the future. It sure saves a lot of time over doing it by hand.

Cons pretty much says it all. Getting hit with a separate fee to print my state taxes, which was almost as much as the box price of the software) pretty much soured the experience.
