TurboTax Basic made filing tax almost enjoyable!

I have been using Turbotax Basic for several years now, and am always thankful to have this tool available to me.There are several features I really like: (1) its very well organized & structured - you can see what you are working on very easily & clearly; (2) I really like the very easy access to additional info on any line item - with often yet another layer of detailed info available (e.g. IRS publications) just a click away; (3) its fun to see the running account of refunds due; (4) I like the way the program retrieves standard info from the previous year; (5) the way it keeps track of capital gains losses from earlier years is really nice. I would highly recommend this program to anyone considering a tacx preparing program.

Two suggestions for improvement:
1. I used the guided method for most of my tax return preparation. If I stopped work and saved, when I came back I had to start at the beginning and work my way back to where I left off. There should be a way to bookmark where I left off so I can quickly return to it.
2. On my federal return, I had an overpayment which I applied to my 2012 estimated tax. However, TurboTax did not apply that overpayment in printing the payment voucher for my first quarterly estimated tax payment.

As a retired accountant, I have found the Turbotax products easy to use, thorough, and flexible for both the novice and experienced user. They continue to refine the software to address more complicated tax situations while maintaining ease of use.

Makes it Possible

It is easier to use TurboTax than it is to gather all the necessary records to bring to a preparer, plus you get to better understand our goofy tax code.

I was able to do same thing myself in less than 30 minutes that I paid an agency over $300.00 last year to do the exact same thing. Loved it !
