Old Reliable!

I have to split my investment income into different entries because I have adjustments for amortization, and accrued interest . Being able to check off these items in one screen would make things simpler.

I really appreciated the way TurboTax knew which worksheets to use, which forms to file, exactly how to make it work. And no more fears about math mistakes!

only half way for domestic partners

After entering all the individual data for my return and my partner's, TurboTax did it's usual stellar job of figuring out all the deductions etc as usual. It then directed me to a summary TOTAL page for RDP. From then on I was essentially on my own to read all the details of IRS mumbo jumbo and figure out what to report and what not to report.
Once onto the TurboTax provided summary total reports, I had to manipulate mine and my partners by hand and go back and forth between the two as it did not allow changes to both entries on the combined reports (does this sound confusing? Welcome to my world!;- ) Thanks TurboTax for taking it this far. You still have a ways to go to make the tax experience as TurboTax friendly for RDPs and same gender marrieds as you do for the rest of the tax paying public. Still separate and not yet equal!

Overall, the program was very good. My only complaint was the difficulty in reporting the sale of my rental property. I'm a tax accountant by profession, so I knew what needed to go where, but it seemed a little cumbersome getting the program to report the sale like I knew it should be reported. Finally got it to work.

I find the TurboTax software easy to install and to follow. I was able to do taxes while away at school and pick up where I needed to the following years when I was finished. This program is easy to follow and has good explainations for areas you are not so familiar with.

Had to use the manual update feature rather than the auto update feature for new releases. I was unable to find the reason why this was the case so I simply updated manually. Otherwise turbo tax is a great program and have been using it for several years.
