Excellent picture and home network functionality.

I bought this 3 years ago, so I have some experience with this TV. The picture is still excellent, even after 15,739 hours of on time. The tuner is very good. I live in the country and get good DTV signal and picture. Good DLNA support. Playing videos from a computer over a network is fun. WebOS is Linux. Support for wireless keyboard works, if you like that sort of thing. Only con is the Smart UI for accessing menus and Streaming services is a little slow and awkward but not too bad to dock a star. Also, it survived a lightning strike that fried a lot of other things. Phone and network equipment fried. But this TV survived.

Good TV for the money but missing a few things....

I bought this TV because it had more positive reviews from customers than any other brand I researched. I've only had it about a month. It was very easy to set up and after tweaking things a bit I got the picture where I wanted it and it's pretty nice. Amazingly when I tried to connect wirelessly to my network the TV would not accept my password and after repeated attempts the TV actually hacked my router and got a connection using my IP address. There are a few things that may or may not influence any one else to purchase this product... 1. It does not support FLASH and if you try to view a YouTube video incorporating FLASH content you will not be able to view it. 2. When accessing emails it is impossible to reply to someone because there is no keyboard involved and you have to use the Magic Remote to pick and choose your letters from a grid. 3. The User Manual is very vague and tedious and if you have any serious questions you have to go on line to lg.com and find the troubleshooter which I found to be very good so far. 4. When trying to get the best picture, turn off the Energy Saver and the Power Saving functions and the picture will brighten dramatically. The TV does not use that much power and you won't be hurt by it. Overall I'm happy with the TV but the real test has yet to come since this is only the beginning.

I like the tv very much

Everything is ok except the web browsing. When browsing, sometimes the tv will kick out of browsing back to the previous the thing prior to browsing. It usually occurs after the tv has been on for some time and several things have already been running in the background. It just kicks out of the browsing back to the previous thing. I then have to reload the web browser to get back to where I was while browsing.before. If I turn the tv off, then this does not happen for a while but it eventually will happen again. Even if I close other things that might be open in background, it still will kick out of browsing. Sometimes I increase the magnification so that I can better view what I am reading or looking at.

Best Smart TV 2014

I have owned this TV for over 2 months now and I absolutely love it. The picture and color quality is excellent. This TV can produce the soap opera effect and it does it well, I truly enjoy watching shows in this mode. The streaming capabilities could be better, and as other reviewers stated this TV could use flash support. Surfing the web is great until you encounter a site that uses flash. The stand is nice but seems a bit flimsy, if I walk too hard I can hear the TV rocking. The magic remote is excellent, It you ever used the WII then you will love this remote. They should, however, remove the 3D button from the remote or include it in the TV. All in all I would recommend this TV to anyone. I do avid research before I make any big purchase and in June of 2014 this was the best TV I found for a reasonable price. It is just as good, if not better, than the overpriced models. You will not be sorry if you purchase this TV.

Good TV, but interface is different

This is a good TV with good picture and adequate sound. I use it as a second TV and as the game TV.
I am not crazy about the interface, particularly the remote. Since the remote does not have a number pad, it is very difficult to get to the channel you want. You either have to use the channel up/down button or use the channel list which you bring up by pointing at the top right of the screen and then use the mouse-like scroll wheel to go up and down.
The remote is small and clever, but I think I would give it higher marks if it had a number pad. Not sure if I can purchase a universal remote and get it to work with this TV.
