Unbelievable

We just received this item from a friend and it gives us a perfect crisp view of our son, in complete darkness like it was day light. i would recommend this to anyone who is still a little nervous about leaving their newborn unattended because it has provided complete comfort for me as well as my wife LOVE IT!!!!!!! oh and i love that i can speak through the camera, because he has woken up and just the sound of our voices through the receiver has put him back to sleep. can thank you guys enough for putting out such a great product.

Troubleshooting With Additional Camera

For our first child we had one of the glorified walkie-talkie like monitors and we swore we would never use them again. This particular camera came highly recommended from my sister-in-law who although doesn't yet have children of her own was an au-pair for different families, many of who used this camera. She got us the original monitor and camera set as a gift for our second child. (So i will not be reviewing the actual purchase or shipping of the unit)
When we first started using the monitor we were so happy. It had a camera! We had a visual of our baby! I have read on multiple reviews that it doesn't have as good of a resolution as other brands such as summer infant. Honestly, we don't have anything to compare it to and even when its on its night-vision mode we can clearly see what's going on in his crib. Shortly after we started using the monitor the charging dock no longer carried current. We contacted Levana, and although helpful, because it was a gift and it was used it would have to be returned before a new set was issued. 
I was not about to loose my new-found freedom during the night and nap-times to wait for a new one to arrive. We ordered an AC adapter for the correct voltage from amazon and while we waited for that to be delivered my husband created a battery pack with AA batteries (enough for proper voltage, we did extensive research on the internet prior to attempting this) to power the charging dock and that lasted long enough for the new adapter to arrive and it was "frankensteined" together. That repair happened about 4 months ago and is still working beautifully. 
Considering the camera was working very well despite the minor charging station set back we decided to order an additional camera for our daughter's room. And this is when it gets hairy.
First the wrong camera was ordered. Twice actually. Once from Amazon and once from Levana's website. It is not entirely clear which camera works with which monitor when purchasing an additional camera. Third time is a charm and we were able to pair the camera with the monitor. 
There are 4 channels. Based on my limited knowledge of radio frequencies, there is not much of an allowance between the channels for them to be easily differentiated by the monitor. A long and frustrating story shortened:
The monitor constantly lost connection to either camera once the additional camera was paired. after being on live chat with a very patient representative for close to 2 hours troubleshooting, I ended up figuring it out on my own. 
I paired the cameras to camera 1 and camera 4 so there would be more "space" between the two cameras when communicating to the monitor. Also, and this is crucial, you need to use the "scan" setting. unfortunately when using both cameras on the scan setting it will constantly be shifting from one camera to the other. I use this only when i'm waiting for my oldest to actually fall asleep. once she's asleep i use the scan on just the single camera and it gives the display a rest. you also need to manually turn off the display when using the single camera on scan, but it will still trigger with noise based on your VOX settings.
considering i was ready to throw this whole set up out the window because i was so frustrated with it loosing connection (nothing like finally sleeping between nursing an infant and being awoken by loud beeping. constantly), once we figured out the quirks its not so bad.
overall i give it 3 stars. i would not recommend this product unless you only intend on using a single camera. BUT i'm not discontinuing my use of it for another brand. yet. The battery on the monitor really does well so far. I have not yet tested the range (it has been too cold to venture far outside, but when spring finally arrives i will see how far it can go)

Got this about a couple of months ago - 2 cameras - no complaints. All the features work. No LED/night vision problems. 2 way mic works. I am very happy with this.

Great Monitor At A Great Price!

We have had this monitor for a little over a month now and we love it! We did not have a video monitor before, but knew we wanted one since our son was getting so mobile in his crib. Our old monitor used to break up all the time, and this one has a great range. I have even gone outside with it and it has worked! The camera is mountable which is perfect to get a good view of the crib. Batter life is great. I love that I can mute the sound if I am working and it flashes red at me when the baby is making noise. The peep mode does not work for us because my son uses a sound machine, he prefers the white noise over the lullabies that are on the monitor. But that doesn't bother us at all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Loved our Lila monitor

We bought the Lila monitor after our basic run of the mill Graco monitor broke and the borrowed video monitor appeared to have some electrical issues. Well worth the price! We got the Lila with Oma monitor and couldn't be happier. Glad I made the switch. Love the handheld video monitor, love the Peep function. Great range and easy to use and set up. Definitely would recommend this to anyone. My only complaint was that during a major rain storm, the screen went really wonky due to the static in the air. Guess that's something you probably have to deal with but I wasn't sure what it was at first, then I realized it was the weather. Overall though, very happy.

Streamlined features & great customer service

I've had this monitor for a year so far, and I really like it! Here are some of the top features I like: fairly simple and straightforward design and user interface; price was right; voice activated feature; can hook up multiple cameras; long/good battery life; night vision mode is black & white (vs a greenish tint). Also, I needed to contact Levana's customer service with some questions about the monitor a few months ago, and they were prompt in reply and very helpful. I'm really pleased with both the product and the company, and have been recommending the monitor to my pregnant friends.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Broken after eight months of use

I've used this monitor for eight months and woke up this morning thinking my baby slept through the night, but found out that the monitor actually had shut off while sitting on the charger.  Who knows how long he was crying!!  Worked great initially and loved the temperature feature, but not worth it if I have to buy another one after eight months.  Had a different brand for my first son and it worked over two years without issues.  Only bought this one because of the temperature feature.  Now tech support thinks it's a battery issue and say they'll replace the battery for a $30, but it will take over a week to get here.  This does not help my situation when I need it on a nightly basis.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
