I purchased this safe because it was the perfect size for my needs; i.e., to fit bolted down on a shelf within my 12+ cubic foot safe. Whereas the X055 is neither fireproof nor waterproof (and is honestly not touted as being so) , my larger safe is so. The X055 provides me with that extra bit of security I need for certain items.
Had there been an X055 with biometric and digital features, I most definitely would have spent the extra money.
This is my third Sentry Safe I have purchased in the past 17 years.
