I did love it but

We received this fan for a Christmas gift 2017. I liked it so much that I purchased two of the tabletop models a few months ago. Four days ago the motor started overheating but I couldn't tell where the smoky smell that made my throat sore was coming from. Even had the fire department here yesterday to check my home. Today I was convinced that the smell was coming from my A/C vents. I left to get some fresh air and while I was gone my husband opened every door and window in the house and unplugged the A/C unit fearing electrical fire. And turned the fan on again a short time later. I was upstairs and the smell just poured into the hallway. The fan was aimed up at a vaulted ceiling. I ran downstairs and as I got closer to the fan the smell got worse. I touched the motor housing with it running and it was really hot. I turned it off and sniffed the housing. Holy cow. Harsh burned electrical smell. Scary, could have caused a fire. I've loved this fan and have two of the tabletop versions in bedrooms. They aren't cheap either. Hope I can get some reimbursement.

Bright blue led lights huge design flaw

Try being in a dark room sleeping at night with this fan on. You'll hate the annoying bright blue lights you can't dim or turn off. We had to cover the lights with a cloth at first and then some tape. Love how the fan looks and sounds though. Just wished they'd have thought about those lights in a dark room.

Powerful, quiet, and great looking fan

I got this fan for my house when my air conditioner broke in the middle of summer and it was a life saver. It really puts out a lot of air and cools a room quickly but does it in a very gentle quiet way. It's the best fan I have owned and even after my central air was fixed I keep 2 of these in the house for additional air or when the weather is nice. It's easy to move from room to room which we do sometimes and my 3 yr old even likes it in her room. The other great part is that the color is very classy and blends into the room nicely so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I have worked for the company for 9 years and have seen many products and this one is truly one of my favorites. You won't be disappointed.

Nope, not feeling the quality

Quiet, good air movement, but the fan cage (the wire around the fan) has rusted out in less than a year. We aren't constantly humid area - San Diego, CA - but the cage has almost entirely rusted. And a replacement doesn't seem to be available.

Defective base

Twice the fan has fallen off the base, which, as other reviewers have said, is held by just four tiny screws that (in our case) do not tighten sufficiently to hold in place. Very poorly designed base to support a heavy fan. Do not buy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only One Design Flaw

This is a great fan. Powerful, but incredibly quiet. The only problem I can find is the blue light that shines when the fan is on is positioned to where the light shines up onto the ceiling, effectively making my entire bedroom bright. This is disturbing if you're like me and like to sleep in a dark room. I solved the problem by draping a sock over the control panel. If not for this one design flaw, the fan would be perfect.

Grill got rusty within a few months.

This fan is better than all the very cheap ones available. My only complaint is that the front grill began to rust within a few months of receiving this as a gift. I've sent Rowenta.com an inquiry but haven't heard back from them on what to do re: the rust.
