This can is perfect for me as a single resident. If I had a larger family I would certainly go for a larger container. That said, the mechanics and look of the product are impeccable!!

Awesome family trash can with minimal kitchen space

I LOVE our trash can. I wanted something space efficient for both trash and recycling. Form and function are perfect for this model. I also find the D liners for this trash can to hold much more than I imagined!

The Best Trash Can

My Mom bought this trash can for my son as a house warming gift, who just moved into his own home. I have this same can and new it would work for him in his new kitchen. He always had a can under the sink and I told him to keep it simple and that opening a cabinet to throw away trash was counter productive and while your cooking its a pain in the butt to open your cabinets and get them dirty and you have to use two hands. He got his trash can and he is thrilled! Leave it to a Mom to understand the dynamics of keeping it simple and making life easier. He's a happy man in his kitchen now!

Butterfly step can

We just moved from a house to an apartment (downsized and retired!) and needed a trash can. My sister has a different model but this fits perfectly in the space we have. We love it! Very efficient.

Not as good as it seems

The recycling compartment is too small and doesn’t hold enough due to recyclables being hard to break down.
Also it does not manage odor well. The lid has a small gap between the butterfly opening and trash odor escapes easily.
The design is nice but odor escaping is a fatal flaw. You’d be better off with any other trash can that contains the smell of trash, don’t spend your money here.

Just what we wanted!

Perfect fit -- we purchased to replace our other butterfly step can. We really wanted to make sure our trash and recycling were together to be efficient with space. We were aware of the size of the bins, and while we love this can, it would be nice to fit normal bags so it doesn't waste so much space, although we collect as much from other cans around the apartment to fill the unused part of the 13 gallon bag. We LOVE this trash can, it's beautiful and efficient and fits our space well. We have it at the end of our counter since that's the only spot for our kitchen. It's always hard to justify the cost, but really it's worth it!
