Mine was a free replacement for one that did not hold a charge from the very beginning. This one is terrific and holds a charge for a very long time. Hooray!!!!
I have two dust busters in my home, one upstairs and one in my sewing room. I have bought others over the years but the Scorpion outlasts the others 2-1. I had no hesitation when my old one died on what to replace it with.
Received this as a gift - I have parrots - they are messy - use it daily to clean their cages - and several times a day to pick up around the cages, on the floor and pickup on the carpet. Easy to empty. Length of cord is great ! Lightweight !
I bought this about a month ago for use in my rv, and I now wish I had just spent the extra bit of money to buy something more powerful. Sure, on hard surfaces this works ok, but it's essentially useless on carpet. I watch as bits of dirt, grass, or pet hair are just flicked back and forth without being vacuumed up. It's especially clear that it has done little when I go to empty it and only a sprinkling of dust is inside. Beyond that, it takes 24 hours to recharge for only about 6 minutes of use. Even if it is only meant for "small jobs," those jobs typically take longer than 6 minutes because of the poor suction!

Hi Angela K! We don't want you to regret your purchase. We want to help. The Scorpion 6.0 is designed to pick up from hard surfaces as it does not come with a motorized brushroll. Our handhelds range in power from 3 volts to 18 volts. It sounds like you may need a more powerful machine. We suggest the Gator 15.6V. You can see it here: http://bit.ly/1rvh6YJ. Its more powerful and it comes with a brushroll to tackle spills on your carpet. We hope this helps!
I purchased this one year ago and it kept losing power. So I emailed the company and they sent me a replacement. This one is wonderful. It keeps power and works great! Thank you for great customer service!
After about a week or two my dirt devil would lose power. After trying to use it I tried to put in back on it's charging base. The light showing it was charging did not come on. After several tries to make sure it was on it's base correctly; I decided it wasn't going to charge. The light showing it was charging did not come on. Very disappointing because I use a hand vac every day to clean up after my bird.
