Doesn't live up to my expectations.

I own a lot of Bosch products that are great and choosing this hood was an easy decision, but I wish I would have chosen a different brand. There are several things that I would have expected to be significantly better. If you use the insude burners, closest to the front of the stove, the fan doesn't come close to collection even modest amouts of smell/smoke. The fans are located too far back in the hood and there is too much space for lights. If I am cooking fairly hot, the fans on full speed only collect about have the smoke. THE FANS ARE NOISY. If the fans are on the lowest setting, you will have to raise your voice considerably to carry on a noormal conversation. This product was clearly made with emphasis on low cost with little regard for functionality. I used the hood to replace an over the stove microwave/exhaust fan. The bosch hood in no better than what I replaced.If you can find a retailer that has one hooked up for you see while it opperates, you'll most likey keep shopping.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hood fan ok

My Bosch hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new Bosch hood. Some people said the light got too hot, but I simply loosened the screw on the light cover to let the heat from the light escape. I also love the size so that my backsplash is not hidden.
