Unique Phone! Keeps Growing On Me!

I previous had a BlackBerry Torch (BB OS 6.0). I then moved on to a 2012 HTC One X where I went through the phases of many OS version and ROM selections. Progressing from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean to Kit Kat, I was very familiar with side loading and loading custom ROMs.
When I saw the unique form factor and features of the Passport, I turned off by it at first; but after reading reviews and watching videos, the Passport slowly grew on me. BlackBerry Hub is awesome. I love everything centralized and having the ability to compose any type by one button. BlackBerry Blend is also a great feature where you can answer your emails, texts, BBM, etc. via your laptop or tablet devices!
I really enjoy having a physical keyboard with capacitive features to enhance its efficiency. I love the screen (crystal clear) because I predominantly use my smart phone for texts, emails, webpages, and document viewing. I seldom play games or watch videos on the phone. But when I do, it gets the temporary job done. Some would say... get a 16:9 phablet instead or use swype/gesture typing. I do have to admit, swype/gesture typing is a very nice feature (for me, mainly for texts). It allowed me to one hand type on my HTC One X! But for my preference when writing a long e-mail or working on a lengthy word document, I really love have a physical keyboard.
As far as Apps, I am not lacking any. If I can't find it on the BB World or Amazon App Store, I can find it via side loading the Google Play Store. However, apps that are dependent on the Google Play Services will not work (Examples: Hangouts, Official YouTube, and more). But, if you search CrackBerry, you may find some work around for some of these apps! In terms of my every day apps (banking, investing, social, Pandora, Yelp, On Star), I do not feel like I'm held back dramatically in any way.
The voice (mic & ear), head set, and stereo speaker sound quality is superb! Very loud and clear. The camera/video recording features is great. It will get even better as software updates are made. The UI was nothing like BB OS 6.0 hahaha. It took less than a day to get familiar and will only get smoother as you get more familiar with it.
If all you do is play games and watch videos, this may not be the phone for you. I personally prefer superior productivity features over entertainment features even devices that claim to do both (but really do not).

This is a proper smartphone for those who appreciate quality hardware, robust communication features and some eye candy. The keyboard is ingenious with its 3-row design and a sliver of capacitive options on the screen. You get a compact design that's well balanced and don't have to sacrifice display real estate as you would on an all-touch phone. The addition of the Amazon App Store along with BlackBerry world should satisfy most people looking for apps. The camera takes incredible photos, which is hard to say about any previous 'Berry.
Do yourself a favor and check this phone out for yourself. Tune out all the noise and all the naysayers, I promise it'll be worth it.

BlackBerry have outdone themselves. I already have the Q10 and just added the Passport. I've been studying this phone since its initial release. It's elite and surely for the business professional. It's solid and well built, and the keyboard is genius technology. I own an iPad, a Windows tablet, and a previous owner of an Android phone, therefore proves I'm not biased, I'm being honest! BlackBerry leads the pack in mobile technology!

I Thought Blackberry Couldn't Innovate...WRONG!

I am a lover of all smart phones - I've personally owned (and loved) popular phones like the HTC One M8, Samsung Note 4, iPhone 6+, LG G2, Amazon Fire Phone (underrated phone) and many others. I currently own the Blackberry Passport and a Note 4. I loved my 6+ and recommend it to iPhone lovers, but the Note 4 had more customization available as well as better cameras. I saw the Passport come out and had to jump on it - it looked SO COOL!
It had the specs, had the battery life (hugely important to me), and I was ready to try something new. I guess I kind of got tired of Androids, iPhones & Windows phones and wanted to mix it up a bit. I made the right decision!
I won't mention the specs, as you can find those elsewhere. I also will try not to repeat what everyone else has been saying. But allow me just a few words...
My #1 gripe with phoens: battery life. This phone has incredible battery life - better than the iPhone 6+ and the Note 4!
This phone has a beautiful screen - bright whites and vivid colors. The Passport has a great keyboard - this was my first time with a non-virtual keyboard and I'm okay with never going back to one. The Passport has all kinds of "extras" such as Blackberry Blend, which allows me to view all my texts, emails, calendar events, pictures and more from a wirelessly connected computer! Very cool.
Apps - it has all sorts of apps, great apps that function well. It's not just business apps either, but great entertainment and social networking apps. If you feel comfortable sideloading apps (I did it for the first time and it took 10 minutes) you can download SNAP (look it up online) for Blackberry and it gave me instant access to the Google Play Store - awesome!
Blackberry Hub/Connectedness - this is my main reason for loving Blackberry. Everything just works together, and works together flawlessly. It's even more intuitive than iOS. I find myself saying "brilliant" when I try a new function and find it to be exactly how I would want it if I designed my own software. Blackberry Hub keeps all your texts, emails, Facebook updates, and much more all in one central location. I didn't know if I'd use this but now find myself living by it. It makes me in better control of my content and makes for a seamless transition between apps.
Other Phones - Like I've said, I've owned lots of high-end phones (a shameful habit of mine lol). I still have my Note 4 at home and after using my Passport for a while I missed a few important apps I had on my Note 4 (Quest Bible App, Mobill bill manager, and One Note). I went back to the Note 4 for those apps and believe it or not was kind of bummed out by the software/experience. I realized then how much more efficient my Passport was and how much more of a joy it was to use! That was when I decided to sideload the SNAP app and now I have access to those three favorites of mine. I was so happy to move back to the Passport from my Note 4.
To sum it up - there are so many things to love about this phone. Blackberry is not "dead" nor are they on their way out. They are innovating in an industry that has recently lacked in innovation. This phone will get lots of comments on its looks and you'll fall in love with its square shape and feel. Don't sell Blackberry short - I'm glad I didn't!

The perfect device for business productivity

I managed to get a Passport running on the ATT LTE network early and have been using it for a couple of months now. It by far the best business phone I have ever used in terms of productivity, voice quality and battery life.
The form factor is ideal for reading and editing documents and not just written documents but PowerPoint and spreadsheets as well. This is the first phone I have actually been able to usefully look over a detailed spreadsheet with. While it took me a week or so to get used to the keyboard I find it to be a super productive with low typo rates. The keys have great tactile response and the ability to use the keyboard as a trackpad to scroll through webpages and documents is really nice.
The phone also has great voice quality especially when you turn on the speakerphone option. In fact I use it instead of my home phone for doing conference calls because of how great the speakers and microphones are. Even when doing a lot of conference calls, emails, web meetings and surfing the internet my battery lasts for a full day.
The BlackBerry Blend application is really nice letting me access my emails, messages, company websites and documents from my home and work computers as well as my tablet securely through my Passport without the need to physically connect my Passport to the other device. Most of the other applications I use have been available from either the BlackBerry or Amazon app stores. The browser is so fast and good that I typically use that rather than an app for news, travel and Uber.

Amazing Device!!

This is by far the best device on the market. The battery lasts 2+ days of heavy use, the screen clarity is better than itoy 6. The keyboard acts as a trackpad (like on a laptop) for scrolling and games.
It comes with Amazon's Android app store and Blackberry's app store, so it has all the apps I have ever wanted or needed. The camera is amazing and by far the best Blackberry has ever had. The external speakers are the loudest of any smartphone on the market and the music clarity is unbelievable.
The Blackberry Passport is by far the best smartphone on the market and is far cheaper than it's closest competitors. Get one before they're all sold out!
(Don't judge this device and OS based on old outdated Blackberry devices and OS's. There is simply no comparison, this device and OS has no competitors or rivals).

I got the Passport, I think its a great device. It fits well in my big hand. The physical keyboard feels great, I really missed that from blackberry. opeatong system is very intuitive and smart, the Hub center makes all notifications very accessible and easy to catchup on. I think battery life is a bother fun part with blackberry, it's last for a day and a half easily, I sometimes forget about charging it. Application store still not as rich as Apple, but most essential apps are available for Passport. Over ll review, I think it's a nice one and I am happy with it
