I am soooooo glad I switched from the iPhone. THIS is what an upgrade should be. The only con i can think of is the location of the power button. perhaps the top would have been better
This is a gorgeous phone! I've seen some reviews and general comments regarding the fact that the phone is plastic. Personally, I think that's wonderful. It's lightweight and won't ding like an iPhone, which is definitely heavier.
There are a ton more apps than my prior HTC Touch Pro 2 (Windows Mobile) - I'll definitely never go back to WM. Android all the way! The power does go quickly if used a lot, but does a lot simultaneously. As a multi-tasker, that is incredibly convenient.
The ID software is a bit annoying because it replaces the primary screens and requires you to adjust everything to specific preferences based on the ID selection. This really isn't an issue though, because you don't need to use it and the apps you can access for free provide things like wallpaper, etc.
I have a MacBook Pro (older model), so syncing was a slight issue. The Galaxy does sync with Contacts and iCal, but I don't really use those because I use Entourage 2004. However, I downloaded Syncmate and will be getting the expert edition to download all things like music and videos.
Overall, I am very excited by this phone. It is new and I've just started using it, but so far I consider it at the top of its class. If I experience any issues with it, I will make an additional review.
I always wanted a smartphone, but picked the brand the president is known for, but after getting this Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, I wish I had switched a long time ago. Not only is this phone smarter than the president's but with the fact that I do a lot of texting, the ability to use swype is great for me since I have nerve damage in my hands. The screen is larger, making it less of a strain on my eyes, and just overall, this phone is much better for my needs. I will never go back to the president's brand!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, swype, 8mp camera, ease of attaching pic to text message, apps galore
Cons: limited accessories at this time, battery life isn't that great
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything about the phone is great. Its a little bit plasticky but its has a nice feel to it. I'm just going to point out this one feature that really makes this phone stand out. I guarantee you that the pictures that look so amazing on this phone won't look as good on most monitors. The phone's screen is that beautiful. High Def would also be great but the screen as it is, is amazing!!!
