Great "little" mobile!

Being my first Android smartphone, the Galaxy S II is spectacular. I updated from a "feature phone" LG Rumor Touch on the Virgin Mobile network & now realize how powerful (& fun) a true smartphone can be.
The screen is beautiful & vibrant, the speed is much faster than I could have imagined (instant). The features & apps are very useful as well as fun (Angry Birds). The Google Navigation works well & is better in many ways than either of my GPS units (Garmin & Magellan).
The phone is large in length & width for that huge screen, but I can put it in my pants pocket without any real discomfort or re-adjustment. My previous phone was much shorter/skinnier, but much taller in height & was always a pain in my pocket.
Battery life could be better, but realizing how much time the phone is on & also learning what apps eat the power as well as are not needed to be on all the time (Wi-Fi & 4G) help to save the battery. As expected, playing any games for extended periods of time eat the battery quickly.
I wish I could offer comparison to a similar smartphone, but I don't think many people would be able to find many faults with this mobile.
I absolutely love the phone. My one and ONLY complaint is that I cannot group text more than 10 people at a time. Other than that, superior in all areas!!
I think this is a great phone. The display great. It has all the features needed and then some. Only problem I have is with some of the Apps that come with it. The GPS isn't the top of line but you can upgrade it. Comes with speach voicemail app but is trial and you have to purchase it as upgrade. has function of text to speach for text but can't use it unless you purchase the App. I guess my thought are that if you pay this much money for a phone you should get top line Apps included. To use one of the built in functions of phone you shouldn't have to purchase the App for that function it should be provided. This applies to the text to speech and voice mail app. The GPS should be top line not needing upgraded where you have to pay out money.
I have owned a BlackBerry for five years and went with this phone after the newest Bold's battery wouldn't even last through the morning. I am sold on Samsung now. It is the best experience I have ever had with a phone. Sync's my work emails and is a great productivity tool. Also is great for entertainment when not working!!!
I purchased this phone as an alternative to the iPhone. The applications available to the Android OS are comparable to what is available from iTunes, but the 2 major selling points were lack of a glass screen and 4G capable.
