Coming from a Blackberry this Samsung Galaxy SII 4G Touch is awesome. It makes my old phone seem like DOS entry.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight

Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, good battery life, simple menus

As it currently is, I would not recommend. If an update fixes these issues, then I would shout this phone to the rooftops. This phone has a lot of high end features, which is great, but I can't rate it higher because the normal smartphone features don't work that well. The phone has trouble with roaming data, the wifi won't stay connected or won't reconnect after sleep mode is exited, and cannot turn off the shutter sound on the camera (annoying).
These are things that any low end smartphone does adequately, my previous phone (palm pre) was excellent on these features. This is not completely a dealbreaker, since I can download an app to keep my wifi up, don't use roaming data that much, and the shutter thing is merely annoying, but why should someone have to put up with these things from such an expensive phone??? Hoping there will be an update to fix these things.

Cons: Did not meet expectations, normal features do not work as expected

Phone cannot hold a signal

This phone is absolutely beautiful. But unfortunately, I cannot get a consistent signal for the life of me no matter where I'm at. If I could get a reliable signal it would be my ideal phone. But unfortunately, a phone is worthless no matter how pretty it is, if you can't get a signal.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Avoid like the plague until Samsung fixes the Loss of Service Bug!

This phone has cost me business and missed MANY calls due to the LOS bug. Until it is resolved, I can not recommend this phone at all. Even once fixed, I will question all Samsung purchases as it has been over 2 months since the phone came out without a fix.

I got this phone on the day it came out. I replaced 2 of them within the first 30 days. Both had screen malfunctions. The first one the screen completely died except for a quarter inch at the top. The second got a dead pixel and the GPS would not fix at all. I am on my third one and this one is just as bad, but the screen hasn't failed yet.
All three have had the service drop out all the time, which requires a reboot to get any signal back. The update to ek02 was supposed to fix the problem, but if anything it has made it worse. I get the dropped service even more often.
I am tired of not being able to use my phone as a phone. I have an AirRave at the house and it still gets poor signal sometimes, it even drops the signal completely (requiring a reboot) on the AirRave! I can't stand that the carrier keeps selling these phones, when these issues are clearly widespread. This is my third Samsung phone (Rumor, Epic, Epic Touch) and it will most likely be my last. For such a nice looking piece of hardware it is a shame that it is plagued with so many issues.
Pros: Lightweight, thin
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, terrible antenna, constantly loses service, poor service even on airrave

Very Good But....

This phone is simply awsome except for one major defect.
When making a phone call to say, the gas company, Walmart, my Company etc. The screen can't be set not to time out before selecting the dialer prompts most company's use now a days.
