Purchased this for my daughter and she loves it! It has locked up several times, but that is to be expected from any Android device. Battery drain is fairly fast. No other complaints. Very nice and sleek.
The device is quite useful for playing music as it plays a lot of different formats. The widgets that come with the galaxy player are also very good and the gps is pretty good too. The wifi works ok and I'm waiting for the icecream sandwich update, I hope it comes soon. Another good thing is that the galaxy player doesn't break as easily as an ipod touch.
I love this device. It runs on Android and runs very smooth. Better than the iPod Touch
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, runs on android, front camera, camera
Cons: too expensive, not enough ram
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wanted something differant that the Ipods my daughters have. I found the galaxy 4.0 and was happy with it all. That is till I got home and connected or not connected with the internet. It connects and the disconnects it self. I read on the internet that Samsung wont address this problem. The same with the 5.0. I had to buy the Ipod. Its nice but I would rather have had a Samsung.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, would not stay connected to the internet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall, Samsung managed to accomplish its goal: defeat the ipod touch. However it bugs me that it seems as though Samsung decided to settle for "satisfactory" insted of outstanding. In all areas save for features, the galaxy player mabages to be okay. The processor is relatively fast, but could be done better. The amount of RAM is okay,(definetely an improvement on the itouch) but again, Samsung could've done better. The resolution dosent nearly match the itouch, and samsung's kies software has had a ton of bugs. It seems as though Samsung decided to settle for mediocre on this one. Id like to see a glaxy player more in line with the galaxy S 2 than the older veraion.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, good processor
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, little ram
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the best and fastest product that i ever had
...for a new in 2011 product, it's mp3 player capabilities are lacking. I'm a musician and I use this for the occasional backup track - but, I can't set it to play only 1 track in a playlist. Also, would like to have an option for the screen to not turn off at all. And, how do you have it play random songs from your entire library? All things my old cheap player could do. Maybe a different media player app would be better. I'm just shocked at the lack of built in features on an expensive media player. However, these things aside, I really do like it a lot and would recommend.
